General central locking remotes

I have a 51 multipla ELX, with remote central locking, not i am presuming that the remote should lock the car as well as unlock it, but it doesnt lock, I have to lock using the key, then arm the alarm with the remote, but it will unlock/disarm with the remote, any ideas.

This happened to me when one of the doors was not closed properly, and I hadn't noticed.

I would recommend you check all of the door sensors are working, and that the windows are shutting properly. I guess this is needed to provide a signal to the central locking/ remote that it is okay to lock/ alarm.

Hi I have the same problem car won't lock from the fob also no central locking with key but will arm the alarm once all doors are locked individually any help on this would be great. Thought it may be a relay but haven't got a clue where it would be.
Hope someone can help

Hi just an update I took all the doors apart and lubed everything so far locks are working fine.
