I heard that the rear seats will actually come out. I have checked my hand book but for some strange reason that part is in Italian.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible and how to do it.

They do, but I've never managed to get the middle one out.

Follow the "cord" under the set to the rear, tug on it. It pulls a lever freeing the rear of the seat from the floor.

Then tip the seat forward (good idea to remove head restraint 1st).

You then have access to the locking bar (which is a sort of torsion bar affair) which you twist to free the front of the base from the floor.

In true FIAT fashion, just watch one of the springs ping off.

Hope this helps.

I've had all 3 rear seats out, they are numbered (picture on the base) and need to go back in the order they came out.

The centre seat needs it's head restraint removing but the outer ones are fine! Folding the middle front seat down helps too!

Just took one out as a test. Soon as I get time I will take them all out so I can remove all the glass from when mine was broken into.

Just for a laugh, I sent the disk from our cctv to the police. He is back in prison after being let out on parole. Well worth the £500, no trouble at all anymore.

Thanks for your help on this. I hadn't a clue as I don't speak Italian.

Yes I had a similar problem when the kids dropped some copper coins on the floor, a few made it into the locking mechanism!!!!!

:bang: I had much trouble removing the rear center seat, the back middle seat, on our 2003. The trick seems to be sliding the seat all the way back before using the strap release and then the bar release. :)

Hope this helps someone.
