Hi peeps, me bugs just broken down! Getting faulty alternator warning with electrical burning smell but the strange thing is the power steering has stopped working at same time! Any ideas?

If I remember rightly, the aux belt (itself driven by the crankshaft pulley), drives the alternator, power steering pump and air con compressor (if present).
Is the aux belt broken, or has the alternator locked up perhaps stopping the belt from turning the power steering pump ?

Sound like the auxiliary belt that drives the alternator and power steering has evaporated....
