Strange acceleration

Hi, welcome to the madhouse (y)

What's the history of your Multi, how old, what mileage, how long have you had it, service history, etc?

Has it suddenly developed this fault, or has it been slowly deteriorating over a period?

Can you hear the Turbo spinning up as you accelerate?
You may need to try it with the window(s) open and no radio on, pull away from stopped in second, and then floor it.

hi and thanks ok shes an old 2000 on a y milage 180,000 aprox ( ex taxi ) must of had problem when i brought but didnt nitice till my first hill runs superb on flat didnt relize it was turbo so hadnt took much notice plus flexi pipe on exhust has a small hole in it so noisyer than usual egm light has come on now but garrage said it was giving huge list none of which made sence so cleared it and advised to take it back when or if it came back on

My first guess at that mileage would be the Turbo, but without knowing any history it's going to be really difficult to pin down one fault, could be more than one thing of course.

Might be worth getting hold of a code reader yourself to begin with, or a diagnostic lead (and free to download 'ECU scan' software).
Both options are around £20-25 or so.

Can you ask the garage that checked the codes for the list?

Cleaning the EGR usually helps, unless it's beyond 'rescuing', I just ditched mine and blanked off the ports, as many others do.
Plenty of info about that on here, that's where I'd start.

You could also try some injector cleaner fluid, it goes in the tank when you fill up, it's worth doing that regularly anyway, even on an otherwise healthy engine.

Other than that, give it a full service (Oil and filter, Fuel filter, Air filter), just so you're starting from a 'level field', get the basics out of the way first.
