Hi Guys, I,ve just replace my a/c condenser and an a/c pipe. Gassed the system up and switched it on, compressor kicked in straight away…. Walked away and came back after five min, the compressor had stopped working. Re-gassed the system and did a vacuum test. system detected no leaks.Switched on but no compressor action! Just spent £200 doing all this work and it don't work! Worked fine before with a condenser was falling apart. We did have an occasion about 8 weeks a go when the a/c stopped working in traffic… then after repeatedly switching the button on and off… it worked after a week. The pressure sensor was covered in oil when I took it off.Sits on the pipe on the lower right of condenser… How do you check the compressor is getting power? Is there anything else to check? Do I replace the pressure sensor? The engine check light is on as I left the maf sensor off.. Did the battery lead of thing for 2 hours but still on when reconnected…Any ideas???

Have you
The orange light come on the switch and fan soeed one kicks in... The pressure switch was covered in oil so I suspect that could be doddgy or at least suspect.. Which and where is this fuse? Would anything else not work? As I said the compressor worked 1st time then didnt the second regas.... All was working before being stripped. There has been a two week gap between start and finishing the job. But it did work!!!!!!

Mine blew for no apparent reason months back..replaced it and was fine through the summer..
Can't remember what size fuse but its marked the handbook

Hope fully I'm taking it to work on Tuesday for one of the tech's to have a look over. He has a snap on scan machine to use…. Just hope bI can get it working without spending loads on it...

It's fixed!!!! A/C now works… did some forum research and a lot of people
said the air con pressure sensor was defective… so priced one up, £106 from Fiat. Found a second hand one for £15 but Delphi had them for £28 from ebay. Purchased and now fitted, compressor kicked in straight away…. cool chilly air poring through the cabin. Hope this info helps somebody else.

The ebay seller is wackie_racers , the part is described as a delphi part but came in a "cool zone automotive" box part number on the box is 43-1033. Delphi part number is TSP0435017 can't remember the fiat part number...
Mine is 115 JTD face lift Elaganza. As I said I had replaced the condenser and an a/c pipe that I had damaged taking off the condenser. When gassed up the a/c would not kick in i.e. the compressor would not engage. Had it tested at work and the electricion said the compressor was ok ,so next item was the pressure switch. But all working now…. And have just replaced all 4 glow plugs as "coil" light kept flashing on…..

The good thing about the pressure switch is that it's connected to the system by a schraeder valve, so you can remove and reattach them without having to drain the refrigerant.

Mister Auto have the same item at a similar price (before their usual discounts). Unfortunately, they seem to be taking a loooong time to restock it.
