Setting off for work yesterday I noticed that when I pressed the clutch pedal it "clicked" at the end of the travel. Having no time to investigate further I gingerly crept it to work.

Had a poke around when I finished and couldn't see anything (mainly due to it being midnight).
It only clicked with the engine running. Anyone got any ideas what this new fault it before I take it to the garage in a few hours?

To be honest, I'm getting sick of repairing it and any more than a few hundred quid and it can go.

get under by the pedals
and put some wd 40 down the
clutch push rod get a good load down by
pressing clutch in and out.
then spray some on the actuator arm on the gearbox
u can see it by looking down by the battery
it has to go on the round bit that its conected to.
it only needs a few sprays.
do not soak it caus it will drain into the clutch
u want enough to lube it.
i say all this caus i had the same prob when i had my multi
3 yrs ago.
i do this once every yr :D

Right. I probably should have said that it was a loud click and from the engine bay.
It was the clutch release bearing which had basically shattered.
£600 later and it is running again.

£600 !!!!!!!!!!!

Where did you have that done? HR Owen Bentley?

Never ever paid a garage to work on any car of mine in 30+ years, but that doesn't sound too bad for parts and labour to do a Clutch and DMF.
Parts alone must be around £450+ ?

I've just been quoted £550-650 for a clutch and DMF. Some garages say the DMF is essential some say they'll "have a look and let me know". I can guess what they will say though!
