lol, so a quick update since I disappeared with lots of problems fitting that slightly bigger alternator (100A instead of the 90A that came off mine, but according to eper they should both fit, and they do, but just not past the drive shaft)

I know everyone was saying, move this and move that but I went for the easier option of buying an identical one to the one I took out (well hopefully better working ;) ) and considering just how tricky it was to get the old alternator out it was surprisingly easy to get the "new" one back in. The only thing I removed was the dip stick tube.

Now, the feeling of having power steering again is bliss, such a luxury, at first I thought the steering wheel had come off it was so light to turn  :D

AND as a bonus, my Multi today passed its MOT :slayer:

BUT I must say I was starting to wonder if my Multi had had enough and decided it didn't want to pass, coz in the process I got a flat tyre and then the spare I put on also had a slow puncture on it...

Then when I had finally got the alternator in and went for a drive, the alternator light came on. It turned out the battery connector had broken so it wouldn't adjust tight enough to stay on. :(

But new one on now and as I said, passed its MOT today :worship: I must say thanks to the amazingly helpful people at JustMotorCare (used to be JustMots) Eastbourne who also went through and checked both my 2 sets of wheels and swapped and mixed them up to get two sets of legal tyres.
