Hi Folks, the Multi has just started an odd problem with the alarm.
Got back from a camping trip and started to unload the car, alarm armed itself whilst locked and then promptly went off, turned it off using MAR position.
Have checked things out a little further and thought I had traced it to the bonnet switch as after packing the plastic hit plate this seemed to solve the problem to a degree but now instead of the alarm going off after a short period of time it goes off after you unlock the car and then open the door! This happens with unlocking with the key and using the button on the fob.
We have never actually used the alarm as it has never set its self or we had disabled it without knowing it as its never been a problem before. Never had the red led light flash on the dash.
Any ideas, is there any way of turning the darn thing off or disconnect it as like I said we have never knowingly had the thing turned off.

So your red led on the dash doesn't flash at all??
As when you turn the alarm off after sounding..it will flash a certain number of times to indicate what set it off!

Ok just to recap.
For at least 5 years alarm has never armed bar once and this seemed to be shut off again by following the instructions in the handbook i.e turning key to MAR then off again. Its never armed since then and led has never been lit apart from that one time.

Initially after stopping and locking the car the alarmed armed (indicators flash, led starts, arming noise sounds) and then promptly went off a few mins later, after reading a post on the forum re the bonnet sensor I packed that out and that stopped that problem.

Now when locking the car via the key or button on fob the car locks a few seconds later the indicators flash, and a noise from the alarm (I take it this is the arming noise) then all ok.

When unlocking using the key or fob all doors unlock, led stays on, open door, lots of noise, insert key and turn to MAR and quiet again.

As said never had any problem with alarm before until after getting home yesterday in all that rain as it never armed.

All I really would like to know is can I actually disable the alarm permanetly without causing problems elsewhere or disconnect completely.

Solved the problem, have removed the alarm itself after taking out the internal back up battery, we can now lock, unlock car without that ear splitting noise and piece can now settle in our street.
