The aircon on my Multipla has died a death due to a couple of leaks. I rang the local Fiat dealer for the pips needed (not been able to get them anywhere else) that attaches to the pump only to be told they no longer stock these.

He told me that they were reducing stock on any part that wasn't essential to the actual running of the car (basically anything not seen as an extra or luxury) due to the discontinuing of the Multipla in 2011.

I can get a new condenser from a third party no problem but the pipe is proving to be difficult. Wouldn't bother with aircon normally but the Multipla is my towcar and we will be doing a lot of milage with whinging kids when it gets too hot.

I have been told I can cut the pipe out and clamp a new one in, but it will be shorter and therefore use a different path through the engine. Would prefer pipe the same. Anyone know a good parts store?

Which pipe is it? Have you looked up the part number on ePER? Also, how has the old pipe failed? If it's in one of the aluminium runs and not close to its rubber pipe junction, they can be welded very successfully.

The pipe has a crack in it where the same stone that broke the condenser hit it and is also leaking around the joins with the pump. I have had it off and it does need replacing. Not sure he part number as I just took it into the dealers to see about it.

May try and get it welded as its not the rubber thats gone, never thought of that. Thanks.

The thing you have to do to stop whinging kids, not allowed to use gaffer tape!
