Hi everyone, looking for some help please.
our multipla (the Hippo) started to play up when putting in to gear, it got progressively worse then suddenly would not go in to any gear, whilst driving, which was a bit scary!
Anyhoo...the clutch, flywheel and seals have all been changed, picked it up today, yay....drove fine although the clutch pedal wasn't coming up all the way, just as I was driving down our road, it started getting hard to get into gear, got home and it wont go into any gear at all...again.
Feeling very disheartened after spending all that money.
Anything you can suggest to help will be greatly appreciated, I did search the forum for relevant threads to try and find any other suggestions.
Please note I am female but have a partner who understands 'car talk' but is no good on the computer;)

When it happens, have you tried selecting gears with the Engine off?

Does it feel like the gear lever is moving OK, but it just won't change gear?

If the gear lever feels 'stiff' all through it's travel, i.e. there's no free movement at all, then your gear-change cables are probably in need of some lube.

My first Multi did this, was worse if I went through any water at speed too, as the gaiters at the bottom were split/perished, which let water/c##p in.

Look at the lower end of the cables, you should be able to see them from the left side with the wheel removed.
The cables are on top of the gearbox, just forward of the steering rack gaiter.
This is a Punto, but the Multi is very similar . . .

You'll probably find your rubber gaiters on the cables have split, give the insides a squirt with WD40 or similar and see if it improves.
You can also pop the gear lever cover off on the dashboard and squirt some lube into them from the top.
Do it when it's not been driven for a while, and move the lever through it's full range while spraying the lube into the cables, at both ends.

I'd get some Bike cable lube, such as GT85 . . .
