I’ve removed a towbar to transfer to my multipla and havejust weighed it, its nearly 20 kg (according to the bathroom scales). Then Iweighed a rear seat, 15kg. So if I run the Multipla without the seats, towbarand below half a tank of fuel I’ll save up to 100kg. (15 stone) That has to improveMPG. Any other ideas?

Put the towbar back on and tow a trailer loaded up with foam, and covered.

Seriously, a few years ago, with my old Multi ('02 115 JTD), I took it down to South Wales with three friends to an Airsoft weekend event.
Fully loaded with all our Airsoft kit, and a borrowed camping trailer stuffed high with all our camping kit, I got much better mileage (a good 10-15 mpg more), and the rear screen stayed dry despite it raining for most of the 150 miles down the M4.

Aerodynamics, on a long trip they're all-important.

Round town, weight (or lack of it) is King (y)

Can be dodgy in the wet but over inflating tyres improves fuel consumption quite noticeably.

. . . if it hasn't already fallen off by itself :p

The one on my original Multi did that, was bouncing along the road behind it on the end of the cable

I just carry a 'proper' spare in the back now.
About time I got round to modifying the carrier and fitting it underneath . . .

LOL.. How often do they fail then, I notice on my service history ther's been a new one fitted reciently
