Hiya, Noticed on my longer journey's recently that my temp guage has increased from 3 blocks to 4. It is warmer out and its probably the cause.

Whats your normal temp reading please?

three bars and occasionally four in hotter weather or on fast run. Sounds normal and the irony of using the word normal when associated to the Multipla is a bit spooky.
Regards
Stephen

My old JTD roundnose always showed 3 bars. The Squarenose Multijet shows 4 but runs fine.

There was a similar thread a while back, general consensus was the same, three/four blocks is 'normal'.

Only time my old 115 went over four was one unseasonably warm day we had towards the end of last Winter, got stuck in a crawling tailback . . . and I still had the grill openings stuffed with foam strips

It's 30 degrees here, last thing I want is the radiator blocked off.

I'll be up the mountain on 7 bars!

:)

My bad, I meant, why would you block up your vents in the first place?
Thanks :)

Diesels (in general) run much cooler than petrol engines, especially when driven 'economically', so in lower temperatures it can help to restrict the amount of air getting to the rad', if you want a decent output from the heater/demister.

Mainly 2 sometimes 3
Got up to 4 on the sunny Saturday we had a couple of weeks ago I got scared

My jtd will sit at two bars during normal driving, on a warm day three, and the day it hit four I had the windows down and the heater on full chat!! I'd never seen it as high, even my first one never went above two bars

Normally 3, sometimes 4, then some times just for devilment it shows just one, even when I know its quite hot.

I guess sometimes those Italian electrics need a siesta.

3 or 4 seems normal.
Should it make any difference with the Aircon on?
Do all Multiplas have that delay of about 5 mins before the heater fan / demister / aircon start functioning? Annoying on misty frosty days
