Key snapped in lock on drivers door yesterday
Only one we had
I happened to be 3 miles from home when it broke
Rang son(19) to bring all my tools
1 hr later I had 2 bits of key
Went to timpsons got a new key
They even took out the transponder and fitted it into new key
Happy days only £15
Worth getting a spare if you haven't already
Ok the remote central locking is now defunct but it's never worked all the time we've had the car
Just letting everyone know you don't necessarily have to go to fiat for a key

Nice one!

My first Multi ('02 115 JTD ELX) didn't have remote locking/alarm.
The key we got with it had the button and LED hole, but the inside was bare, no circuitry or anything else.

When it eventually snapped off (in the 'ignition' barrel ), I just glued the transponder to the sensor ring so it was always 'on', gutted the barrel (they're impossible to strip without destroying) and just bonded a cylindrical Alloy piece I had lying around to the switch assembly at the bottom, so no key required to start it.
I used the cheap spare keys I'd had made when we first got it to open the doors/tailgate.

By the way, does anyone know what would happen if the transponder was taken away from the sensor while you were driving?
Would the engine cut-out, or is the ignition circuit 'latched' (for safety) until you switch off again?

Edit; Just had a message from a new friend that I recently introduced to Multis (he's bought one to take to his holiday place in Portugal, and is now wanting another to use here).
I'd suggested sticking the key chip near the sensor, then buying 'normal' replacements for spares.
He tried it, and removed the chip while the engine was running, and it kept going.
This is on a petrol model, I'll try it on my JTD asap . . .
