hi, I have just got my self some forte engine cleaner and diesel treatment, the engine flush says let it idle for 30 minutes, is there any reason why you can't drive around with it in the engine for a few days just to make sure its cleaned properly ( 162000 on the clock but runs sweet :) ) thanks for any replies. I will put new oil in with the forte to clean better thanks again.

DON'T drive the car with flushing oil in. It flushes because it contains very strong detergents which break down the film strength of oil (just like using loads of washing up liquid on a greasy frying pan). This is ok if the engine only has very light load on it - such as at tickover - but if you drive the car you'll in effect have no lubrication on the engine bearings. Getting the engine & its oil hot helps the purging properties of the flushing oil, so it's a good idea to go for a drive to warm it up before you put the flushing oil in, then leave it in for the 30 minutes stated.

FWIW, I've used the Forte flushing oil in my Multipla a couple of times and it seems to work well - quietened a sticky tappet that I'd had for a few months.
