I'm not sure how amny other PETROL Multi members there may be left, but I thought I'd share my experience of an irritaing poor running issue I had with my 2001 model.
Basically, I posted a 'thred' asking for advice on a poor running issue (no replies) - symptoms erratic idle, engine stalling when trying to reverse or when you 'blip' the throttle, v poor fuel consumption (18mpg). I changed the crank sensor and coil pack and cleaned the throttle body - no joy.
I finnaly got round to installing the Multiecuscan software and linking up to the ECU.
The problem was an erratic, then 'terminal' pre-cat Lamda sensor. I could only really confirm this with the real-time analysis using the software. A great tool!
Once I had replaced the Lamda sensor, the Multi is running like new with the unbelievable improvement of fuel economy (around town that is) of 28 mpg.
Check the Lamda sensor if you have similar probs.
Dodge.
