Should the 3 heater, fan & air direction dials be illuminated? Mine, as you might guess, aren't and it's a pain.

Was it the plug under the centre footrest?

Its the 2 tiny bulbs blown..
Pull off centre fan speed dial
Remove small alley bolt
Pull off speedo housing
Then the facial will carefully cone away
Bulbs are about £2 each from halfords..
Much cheaper online.

What type are they, are they the capless type?

You can get LED versions of all types (and in lots of colours too, if you fancy a change), probably worth doing once you have it apart.
