simple one this (i hope) when arming a multi alarm how many bleeps should it emit. sometimes mine bleeps once (about a 1 second) the about a second later bleeps again.
other times it bleeps once (about 1.5 seconds).

have no idea what the beep should be so any help welcomed.

Well mine used to do this when it unlocked itself again because a door wasn't shut properly...

from Multipla Mnaual

"SELF-TEST
If when switching the car alarm on, you hear a “beep”
followed after about one second by a shorter “beep”,
check that the doors, bonnet and boot are all closed
properly, then try switching the alarm on again."

I had this aswell when my car battery was on its way out...
Also when the car done its check on turning the ignition I never use to get the “ok” message...

I get 1 long beep when locking and 2 short beeps when unlocking.

cheers yall. seems to have settled down to one long bleep now.

Since we're on the topic if beeping alarms... I remember reading here somewhere about turning diwn the volume of the beeps, mine is quite loud!!
Marty.

There is a post somewhere on here about changing the tone of the beep or switching it off altogether. If I remember rightly it involves the ignition key and pressing the bonnet switch a certain number of times.
We switched ours off.

Open the bonnet.
Turn the ignition key from MAR to STOP.
Within 15 seconds press the switch (at the front of the bonnet) 7
times in rapid succession (in less than 10 seconds).

Entry to MANUAL FAULT DIAGNOSIS will be indicated by 5 beeps. During
these 5 beeps, press the front bonnet switch and hold it down. A
further long beep indicates acceptance. Hold the switch down for the
entire duration of the long beep. The long beep indicates that the
system is in Country programming mode and the Country code can now be
entered.

Release the switch and within the next 10 seconds press the switch
repeatedly for the number of times in the table below to select the
required country operating mode (the system will beep to confirm each
press).

COUNTRY OF OPERATION
ITALY -1
GERMANY- 2
FRANCE – 3
SW1TZERLAND - 4
UNITED KINGDOM - 5
BELGIUM - 6
HOLLAND –7
EC - 8
Low siren (TURIN) - 9

Only one of these completely disabled the beeps, and I'm sorry but I
can't remember which one it was. Possibly 7?? If not, you'll have to
find out by trial and error, so I suggest you do it when your
neighbours are out! I went all the way through the list hoping that
there was a setting that disabled the beeps but kept the flashing
lights. There wasn't.

My Multi came from Holland and doesn't beep so 7 is probably correct. (y)

The handbook covers everything except 9 flashes:
'1 flash = Right front door
2 flashes = Left front door
3 flashes = Right rear door
4 flashes = Left rear door
5 flashes = Volumetric sensors on ceiling light
6 flashes = Bonnet
7 flashes = Boot lid
8 flashes = Ignition power supply
10 flashes = At least 3 alarm situations
Fixed light = Transmitter battery low
The flashing codes are emitted in sequence at 1.5 second intervals.'

From that you could maybe deduce that nine flashes is a combination of two faults? That seems very unlikely though. Strange that 9 flashes is missing from the list.

Are you waiting for the confirmation hooter after you select your country???... Bout 10 seconds.

Also the flashing red light stands for something.., eg 1 door 2 boot 3 bonnet(not that sequence tho!!)
Marty.

I read in another thread that 9 flashes means +battery..but battery is fine..
A bit stuck now!
I think I'm doing everything as described..the confirmation seems is a blast of the alarm? Right??

Do you think if I disconnect the battery it will revert back to normal...hope so, but knowing my luck!
Also tried a few countries and no joy...done 4 presses which is switzerland and the tone changed on the alarm!

Yeah mine did that adwell... Sounds like a croaky fog horn!
I don't know if disconnecting battery will do anything but sure why not try it...
Marty.
