Dear All,

So sorry to trouble you but I am giving up with Mr T & I wondered if any members would be interested in purchasing him for spare parts? I've been charged a lot of money by the garages I've been to for works - he's had new radiator August 2011, new front discs & pads (2012 I think - will pull out receipt), had 4 brand new tyres this year (& not been out of parking space since mid-July! - 2 rear tyres have a little inner rubbing due to rear trailing arms, now replaced), N/S/F coil spring & anti-roll bar linkage replaced for MOT - MOT expires June 2014, rear trailing arms replaced April 2013, new ABS sensors, 2 x handbrake cables, rear brake shoes/wheel cylinders all April 2013. He's too good to scrap but I cannot get help to get him repaired so am giving up, trying to get something else - that works - & will move us away from here. We need something fairly large to move our possessions in but obviously Mr T is not going to be it!

I hope I don't get into trouble putting this thread on here - just wondered if there's anyone would consider him as a project or using him for spares - I'm still having to pay tax and insurance because of where we live, but haven't been able to use 'him' since mid-July!!

If anyone's out there and interested I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you so much, in advance - and in hope!!

IsThisGoodbyeMrT - yep, I think it surely is.

Hi,

New Multipla owner here!

I've just bought one but its a bit rough and need some spares to smarten it up, I could use yours as a donor, how much are you after for it?

Tim

So what's wrong with it?
Dear Lankytim,

I am so sorry - I have not been on the Forum for a very long time & was certainly not notified of any replies to my posting - I really did not mean to seem rude!! So sorry! I do hope you sorted out all the items you wanted! I wish I'd seen your message but, as I had no notifications of messages I assumed no one was interested. Would you believe I still have my Multi?! I couldn't get him repaired locally - only garage I thought I'd be able to trust refused to repair him when the trailing arm bushes needed replacing & thereafter just ignored my calls!! I was told by a wonderful mobile mechanic that 'he' (Multi) would probably make a very short trip to a very local garage but I don't have another local garage I can go to so Multi has just sat in his parking space whilst I try to figure out what on earth I'm going to do!! In the meantime I've had an ongoing onslaught of 'challenges' I've had to deal with & ill health - good job I'm a toughie!!

Again, I am so very sorry not to have replied sooner but I had no idea that anyone had sent me any replies at all & was at such a loss as to what on earth I was going (am going!) to do so Multi was put on back burner whilst I tried to deal with the other 'challenges'!!

I do hope you found everything you were looking for, & thank you so much for being so kind as to reply to my original posting - this is the first time I have been back onto the Forum!!

Sending many, many thanks & so very many apologies,

Is This Goodbye Mr T - well, no he's still sitting in the same spot!!

So what's wrong with it?
Dear Most Easterly Pandas,

I am so very, very sorry not to have replied to your very kind enquiry immediately - I did not receive any notifications that I'd had any replies & due to an ongoing onslaught of 'challenges' from various other areas here in Somerset poor Multi had to be put on a back burner. 'He' has not now been driven since mid-July 2013 when gearbox oil gushed out the bottom - the breakdown recovery gent told me 'something must have hit the gearbox - there's a big hole' - that was not actually what had happened at all &, it seems, there's a seal or seals which, if they deteriorate, can cause the symptoms poor Multi had - the rattle/tinkle (from the area underneath the centre console) as I pulled away in first, & then second gear as well, worsening into a grating sound as the weeks went on - I couldn't get any help locally with Multi & the garage who'd carried out the repairs for the MOT (& the only garage within 20 miles I trust now!) are in the next county & not somewhere I could get to until the school summer holidays because public transport is very restrictive here - for getting back to meet my children from school & then going back to collect Multi, if that be the case!! So, in answer to your question of so many months ago (I'm so sorry for not being aware that you had sent a message), I'm assuming it's the seals (input seals?). When I was able to use 'him' he started first time every time - 'he' even started first time after sitting unused for about a month when I thought '"It can't be the gearbox, the gears still change!!" At the time I was forced to put 'him' on the back burner 'he' had eleven months' MOT & had five months' tax of course, now, no MOT, obviously no tax & showing signs of having been unused for fifteen months. I'm obviously miles away from you so don't suppose Multi would have been of any further interest to you anyway but I want, so much, to apologize for not having known of your message earlier - I am so sorry, but thank you so much for taking the trouble to write.

Most sincerely & with the very kindest of regards,

IsThisGoodbyeMrT?

Where roughly are you
Dear Boilermansab,

I am so very, very sorry that I have only, late this afternoon, seen your kind enquiry of 07 Nov 2013! I received no notifications of having received any replies & I therefore have not visited the Forum, I only logged in today because my car insurance is due & I was going to look for information. Poor Multi has been & still is parked in 'his' space, not moved since July 2013 when 'he' sprung a small leak of oil - transpired to be gearbox oil & probably caused by deterioration of seals (input shaft seals?) I, however, was misled & told there was a hole in the gearbox, then I was told 'he' would need a new gearbox &, whilst that was out, may as well replace the clutch & that involved a dual mass flywheel - the costs were mounting & I did not know what to do, I'd spent so much on 'him' in repairs - including being absolutely fleeced by two garages - & I didn't like the idea of giving-up, however we've had such an onslaught of 'challenges' from various directions so poor Multi has just been left. Anyway! I want, so much, to apologize for not replying sooner, I honestly had not been notified of any messages & assumed no one was interested, thank you so much for taking the trouble to send me a message.

Most sincerely & with very kindest regards,

IsThisGoodbyeMrT?
