I have had a big crack up the centre of the windscreen since the spring.
I know it will get worse in the winter, so, today I phoned around for some prices.
I didn't realise that the screens were tinted, for the life of me I can't see a tint on my screen.
Anyway, prices are around 180 quid for a screen with a blue tint. (Multi is blue)
But one company has offered me a screen with a green tint for 65 quid, fitted.
So, being a tightarse I am going with that,
Anybody else notice that their screen is tinted?

Well we had it done, Can't notice the green tint at all.

Good job, good price.

65 doesn't sound right to me; the price of the glass is higher!

Are you sure it's a new windscreen they're quoting for, and not a secondhand? If you're fully comp this could also be your excess, especially if you're with Swiftcover.

It's measured by transparency. The OP's windscreen will be tinted green (or blue is an option on the Multipla). A tinted windscreen in blue or green will be ~70% transparent.

The legal limit is 70% transparency for windscreen and front side windows so a factory windscreen tint will be a higher percentage than that.

How's that then

Surly if your window is 100% tinted it practically blacked out, 0% is zero / nothing, ie plan glass with no tint like the glass in my green house surly?

So in your explanation, what is the percentage referring to? Percentage of what??

70% tints mean the glass allows 70% light through it...
5% tints mean the glass allows only 5% light through - Limo tints...
100% tints... Well that just doesn't make sense.? That'll be your drinking glass then ;)

You've got a green house ehi?? :showoff:
