Supercharger error? What code is this - sounds like you've got a very generic code translation table.

I'm not aware of any other sensor that measures boost pressure other than MAP, so yes probably the MAP.

Is this also accompanied by the dreaded limp mode (Revs limited to 3k)?

Well... P0235 Supercharging Pressure and P0236 Overboost Valve
If im accellerating albeit from standing or rolling and I hit 3.5k revs i get the engine control warning, drop in power for maybe 15-30 seconds then it winds up again.
I've used multi ecu scan to read and clear the codes.
I've got some iffy wiring from the maf to the actuator solenoid. Almost looks like a bypass to fool the ecu.
Basically the two wires that run from the solenoid are black and yellow.
My black has been cut and run to the black and green on the MAF. The yellow still runs to the actuator.

I ran it back to how it should be and it pinged the overboost code.
It does this every time you turn the engine on when wired correctly, if you refit the "bypass", the warning light goes out.

I can only assume that the MAP has gone due south.

Any thoughts?

If the dodgy wiring is there to mask an actuator fault, logic suggests that the fault is with the actuator.
If your car is returning decent mileage and power with the iffy wiring, you can either reverse engineer whatever they did to get round the problem, and then resolve the problem.

However, for them the problem was sufficiently expensive or time-consuming that they decided to hack the wiring.

Rock and a hard place, I don't like unresolved issues but there again I don't like spending a £100 to save £90.

Yeah, she's a family friend who bought it for her mechanic. Wealthy doris who knows F.A about cars and he's always "working".
Uber convenient...
