Hi

Normally reside in either the Stilo or Croma forum, but I may consider in next 6 months to replace my Stilo Multiwagon JTD for a late plate Multipla Mjet from 2008/08 plate onwards.

Despite the Stilo issues that are encountered with ownership, any thoughts other than Stilo issues that I need to know before purchasing a Multipla and/or on a mechanical and electrical wave length are they better than a Stilo MW??

I've had an original and a Nose job, Nose jobs are reckoned to be less prone to electrical issues compared with the original, however I didn't have any electrical issues on the original and have just had to crimp and solder the infamous orange connector to resolve an airbag fault.
Suspension/steering components are under-engineered for the job, I've replaced droplinks (twice), ARB bushes, trailing arm bearings, rear shocks and will have to do rear subframe bushes before too long - All this on a sub 80k car.
I believe the Mjet has a DPF which in common with most DPF's doesn't like short runs, new DPF's don't come cheap if regeneration fails.
DMF can be an issue so make sure the clutch/gear change is perfect.
However, it's still a good drive and one of the best space utilisation designs around IMO - I still get around 40mpg on mixed driving and it's never let me down.
You could try for a warranty but make damn sure that suspension is covered and isn't a fair wear and tear item.
