Can't figure out if it's possible to turn these on whilst driving.
They come on fine when you lock up/ open doors but I can't figure out how to just turn em on and leave them on.

Whilst we were driving this eve my partner was fiddling with the switch and she managed ti get one to stay on but when we turned it off it wouldn't come back on... I's there ahidden switch that we accidentally found???

Cheers

Cheers turbo pip but that doesn't seem to work.
The switch action if the lens will toggle them on and off individually but only when they have been activated by a door opening or central locking/ courtesy light activation.

I want to be able to turn one on whilst driving at night with a baby in the back seat.
We somehow managed to do it last night but have no idea how!!!!
Cheers
Marty.

Cheers lads
One of them is working sporadically but the other just isn't. (both work fine when doors open tho!!)
Hopefully it's an easy fix at the switch...must put it on the to do list along with the other jobs that need doing!!!

Hello,
Mine were in a similar way, I found it to be the switch within the light assembly that was at fault. The switching action had failed in both, which is surprising, as I doubt they could have been used significantly.
I tried to dismantle the switch, but it is too small and delicate to fix.
I instead, used a single wire from one rear light and connected it to the front light assy instead. This allows both rear lights to come on when the doors are open and also to be switched on fully, when the front light is switched on.

Just as a vaguely interesting aside, on both my Multis I have linked the rear courtesy switch in to a manual switch near the driver so that I can control whether or not the rear courtesy lights come on or not.

I was a bit sick of being illuminated like a christmas tree every time I turned off the engine or opened the doors.

Nothing has caught fire, so I must have done an ok job..... :D

Multiodd you were on the Money.
Microswitch gone in both.
It's a switchover type switch, alternates the output between two poles.

I dismantled the switches and got one of them working but not having such luck with the other.
Will try maplin for a replacement switch but I doubt I'll get one the same as it.
At least I have one now so the baby won't be sxreamin next time were driving in the dark!!!
