Hello,

I have a problem with my 53 reg Multipla JTD115 ELX. The 2 power sockets (one in the boot, one under the dashboard cupholder) have stopped working. I have been wiring in a new towbar and required an ignition controlled 12V source in the boot. I used the 12V power socket wiring but on my first attempt, I wired it up wrongly and may have shorted it out. They were definitely working beforehand.

According to the handbook, these sockets are controlled by fuse no 19 which is in a cage in the main fusebox (under the driver's side dashtop compartment). That fuse is OK. I have also checked most of the other fuses and they are all OK.

The only other thing I can think this might be is the relay. Does anybody know where I can find it? Or does anyone have any other ideas as to where the fault lies?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Ian

Have you checked that fuse 19 is definitely the one for the power sockets?

I tapped into that circuit when I fitted my heated seats. That was some time ago, so I can't remember the exact details, but I do recall that the fuse layout in the handbook didn't match what's in the car (04 JTD ELX). Some fuses were shifted over towards the passenger side of the dashtop compartment you mention.

It might be worth putting a multimeter between the front power socket and fuse 19 just to make sure.
