I have A 2000 X reg fiat multipla and the heater fan/blowers are not blowing any air out what so ever now.
We have only tried using the fans since the cold weather has kicked in but they havent really worked properly since we bought the car A couple of months back although it did use to blow out warm air slightly but even when the fan was on 4 it blew warm air out very lightly which I know is not right.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to what it could be? Checked the fuses but don't think its them? We could really do with advise as we can't de-steam the car in A morning and got A newborn so relly can't use the car in the cold weather :-(.
Thanks x

what spec is your car as some of them just have a normal heater and some have climate control.

The normal heater will just have a motor and a resistor and if yours is one of these then it sounds like the blower motor has failed. This usually happens because no one changes the cabin filter and it restricts the air flow.
The ones with climate are a little bit more involved but same goes for cabin filter on these aswell

Or the spring-loaded brushes have stuck in their guides in the heater motor. Dismantling the motor and cleaning the brush guides could do the trick. If you can access the base of the motor, a few taps on the housing can shake the brushes into action, for a while at least.

Happens regularly on Vauxhalls.

Hi All
Ive got a 2004 Multipla with a similar problem blowers have gone off, I will check the fused tommorrow. In case its not them how do you get at the fan blower (Is it easy???) and how & where is the cabin filter housed and again can you get at it easily
Thanks
Bill:)

My 2000 Multipla heater fans work when they feel like it! I think its down to poor wiring connections on the resistor which controls the fan speeds. Its in the passenger footwell surrounded by lots of plastic. I've managed to get my heater working again just by moving the wires attached to the resistor. There is definated signs of heat damage to the connectors on the resistor, and I reckon the heat and corrosion/soot is causing lack of electrical contact

I had the same problem last winter with my 2004 multipla, I called out an auto electrical bloke who found that the one of the earth connections in the connection block had burnt out. Mine started failing intermittently, usually when going over nasty bumpy surfaces. As I remember, he accessed said block underneath the facia where the centre footwell is. Hope this might help

I am also having problems in this area. Can somebody tell me please what colour the heater multi-plug is? Also, the location of the resister. Mine is a 2003 Multipla with aircon. Many thanks.

I have a similar problem heater/aircon blower only works on setting 4
Need to find resistor or relay
Where is it please
