Hi Folks

Purchased Mandy, a 51 Plate ELX in August last year and many of you may recall I had a few "teething troubles" with it

Well, here we are nearly a year later and I still have the misfire and of late she's taking three of four turns to start in a morning (don't we all lol) she's fine afterwards, apart from that, I still think she's the best car I've had, fun to drive and so practical

Put her in for MOT in March, I knew I had a broken coil spring and not having a great deal of funding, I used the garage that we use at work with a view to paying the bill through my wages, what a mistake that was, cost me £1300,

They replaced all the brakes, drums, disks, pads etc, although she didn't fail on the brakes, as you can imagine, she won't be going back there!!!!

And now on to a good note, had occasion to take a trip to Leeds last weekend, a round trip of around 170 miles, drove at a steady 60 mph, I'm not one to speed around (not that you can in a Multi) and I had a reading of 36.3 mpg on the dash readout, well chuffed with that, she normally reads 24.5mpg around the town

All in all, looking forward to the next years' motoring

Finally, I recently had the external filter cover pinched, what makes the situation worse is that the chances are it was by a "fellow" Multipla owner, unfortunately, we don't get many in the breakers yards around here

Regards

Your optimism is laudible. I'd regard the experience you describe as a complete disaster. Food for thought as I'm looking at Multipla's just now.
I have driven a sixteen year old Audi 80 (cost me £1k plus my slightly older Audi 80) for almost five years which has never cost more than fifty quid for each of four MOT's and has had no other faults, save for new front brake pads.

I know I've been lucky.

You must really love that car (y)
