just realised I had followed the link to the Actuator and it does appear to be the one I'm after, you did well to find that. I struggled like mad

Still need to make sure that is the fault but it's looking that way at the moment

thank you

Re: Turbo actuator

Looking at the cost of individual elements for the Garrett 1749V (cartridge £180-190, vane set £70-80, actuator £50-60, gaskets £15-30), you very quickly get to what's being charged for an exchange fully recon'd unit, which would also come with a guarantee and also save the hassle of doing all the stripping and rebuilding.

Unless one can confidently diagnose ones own turbos' fault and as a result just buy the bit(s) required, I can see it being an expensive and time consuming excercise.

Bah humbug.

Turbo actuator

Just had a play with the ECU Scan program, and the Cable I got a while ago.
Seems my Turbo's not giving any boost.
On the parameter readout, it's showing only atmospheric pressure (approx 985mB today), even when revved to around 2500rpm.

Could be the sensor's shot, but I would expect that to show up as a fault code itself.

Also, the intake airflow is lagging behind the 'calculated' flow by a fair amount.

Did have Airflow sensor fault code when first connected, now cleared.
Will give it a good thrashing on way to work tonight and check it again.

Also had EGR (EGR is blanked off), and Glow-plug fault codes (Glow-plug light on).

Has anyone tried the 'Fiat ECUScan 3.6.2 + FINAL Crack' program, if so, what does it give you?

This thread has been an absolute lifesaver. Was absolutely stumped with my car. Everytime I drove out around 80mph /over 3000 rpm. I got the dreaded limp mode. Overboost po238 error code. Read this thread many times and finally found the fault. It was a split hose round back of engine linked to the chamber. Yet to try it but thank you all for writing this info. Very very useful ?
