Took me about 6 hours!
Now my back aces, but the multi is doing fine.

This guide helped a lot (Punto Mk1):
https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-guides/179035-rear-suspension-arm-repair-kit.html

I didn't take the arm off, like the guide does, I had trouble removing the ABS sensor.
I would recommend to take the arm completely off, is much easier to get the bearings in place.

The things I removed to get the swing arm loose:

  • Removed the shock absorber
  • Compress the spring with tools and remove
  • Remove three screws connecting the torsion bar to the swing arm
  • One 24mm screw holding the swing arm
Buying the whole swing arm with bearing in place is by far much easier, but when I think back, it isn't so much trouble getting the bearing in place if you have good tools.

Merry Christmas ! :D

Nice to see there are taper roller bearings bearings in there (y)
Not nice to see there are no grease nipples though (n)

Another job added to my 'To Do' list then, fitting grease nipples.

One point;
If you had a round bar that just fitted through the outer races (the seats) of the bearings, you could use it to drift/press them out without having to cut the plastic spacer.

I'm not even sure the sleeve is totally neccessary, the arm's bore has shoulders for the races to bear on.

this is for multipla ????? buts its a punto arm bearing ????

This is fairly similar process, I used it as a reference guide.

I'm not even sure the sleeve is totally neccessary, the arm's bore has shoulders for the races to bear on.
I believe the plastic sleeve is to keep everything nice and clean inside the bearing house, there is a hole in the arm, and it's hollow.

how do you check if your going or gone is there a knocking noise when going around corners??? or hitting bumps.
and how much will it cost two replace ???

The wheel was leaning on, inside the wheel arc, making noise when I turned to the right. Tyre started to misalign as well.

I couldn't fit my hand between the tyre and the inside wall.

Yes, it's very similar hole, but this arm is of course from a punto MK1.

and

Yes, the plastic tube (the white one in the picture from post no. 4) is open to the main section inside the arm.

I didn't pay any attention to this when I assembled the bearings, but afterwards you brought up the thought about the importance of the plastic tube.

To answer your first question in post no 2
If you had a round bar that just fitted through the outer races (the seats) of the bearings, you could use it to drift/press them out without having to cut the plastic spacer.

It comes with the kit, so no need to per serve the plastic tube, also to knock out the sleeve (where the taper roller bearings "sit") you need to get rid of the plastic tube.
