:eek:Another anoying problem with the car are the mirrors , they have a mind of there own being electric , and the n/s one flaps in the wind. Been like it 3 years thought it was about time to sort.:D
Anyone had or have same problem and how it was fixed.

Martbass may be able to help, he fixed one of his a while back, but I don't know how 'deep' he went into it.

My passenger one doesn't fold electrically.
I queried it when I bought it, and the garage said they'd supply a new one as part of the deal.
It came last week, the invoice was for £189 , glad I asked them about it (y).
I've not had a chance to look inside mine, but looking at the new one I think you'll have to split the base from the mirror housing to do anything more than just plug it in.

Hi Bikes

There's a guide somewhere if you do a search.
I followed it and fixed my mirror.
Mine wasn't flapping around though......it would either not work at all or it would open out and fold completely forward of its normal point.
I removed the little black connector box and rewired without it and its run normally ever since.
Be carefull when trying to prise off the main mirror......its only double back sticky but mine was solid and I broke it costing me £10 quid off flea bay!

I had to fold my non-working mirror (L/H) by hand to get it into my garage a couple of days ago, to work on the rear calipers.
Next day, I switched the ignition on to reposition the car to get to the other side, and the mirror started whirring and clicking.
I switched them to deploy/unfold and the left one is now working as it should  (y)

I fully expect it to fail again at some point but it will probably be fixable with a bit of work on the connector/wires.

When I got my multi the folding mechanism didn't work.

I took the black box out, then the "random" folding started to happen. But it gave them life, which I grew tired of and CUT the wires (two of them on each side) which give 12 volt when the folding button is pressed. The motor on the passenger side was also failing to fold.

I don't need the electric folding, can operate the folding by hand.

I took mine off, don't need them, well, a wagon driver in Italy helped with one of them.
