My driver's seat height adjustment mechanism has stopped working.

I can hear the electric motor whirring away, but I just can't get it up!

Any (decent) suggestions?

it can either be a connection or apparantly the windy mechanism is a metal screw thing with a plastic thread (or the other way round!) the plastic bit gets stripped.

I think some people have managed to bodge together a solution, but the other option is to get a 2nd hand drivers seat and just bolt it in. (unless you have side airbags?)
