Hi All.
I have owned my multipla (112000 on clock, 72k when bought - old style) for 2 years now, love it to bits but have a few questions...
1. Are both wing mirrors supposed to fold in when you press the button? The only one that seems to on mine is the drivers side mirror.
2. The boot release button (just infront of the driver seat), when pressed what is supposed to happen. On mine you hear the electronic catch moving on the boot door but when you try to open it you still have to press the release button on the door itself to open it.
3. I have bought some of the 3led coloured side lights (blue to match the colour of the car) are these legal. Looks amazing when it starts to turn dark)

Thanks in advance everybody.

Hello, and welcome to the forum. Each question in turn;

1: Yes I would assume both door mirrors are suppost to fold in, pointless only one doing it.

2: Sounds like a spring to pop the boot open when the catch is released has perhaps worn.

3: Yes illegal if not EU marked, and I odn't know of any that are, but I've got some and aslong as they emmit a white blue/white light then you won't get pulled over by the police;)

Hi and thankyou for the quick reply,
re the sidelights, well mine are blue, not white(ish) but blue. mmm maybe I should change them? Shame as they really do look good. Not that I get to see them though which is a shame.

thx again

I know the feeling, it's the same with mine:(

If they are proper Blue then I'd remove, although they're not flashing you could be done for impersonating an emergency vehicle(n)

Get the White one's and they'll look just as good(y)

Re: Folding Mirrors

Hi
Thanks for the instructions for deconstructing the wing mirror. Luckily I only had to go as far as taking off the plastic cover as I found 1 wire had snapped off from the connector. So I just joined it back bit of solder and voila all working and I now have 2 folding wing mirrors. Just need to sort out the boot switch now and try and find out what it is supposed to do.

Thanks all

Hi I dont Know if wour multi si differant than mine (51 plate) but my boot opening mechenisem is a leaver you lift just infront of the hand brake witch opporats a cable (i think) and there is no button on the boot lid just a key hole. Hope this helps

Re: Folding Mirrors

And on my Multi (2008 Dynamic Family Plus) I can't find any boot release levers or buttons at all!

Matt

My 2002 SX only has a release lever, no button on the tailgate is a pain in the ar53.

Hi all, thx for all the replys.
My 03 multipla 1.9 elx jtd has the boot release botton (not lever) next to the drivers seat on the floor and also I have the button release on the boot itself.
Does anyone else`s boot open by itself when the release is pressed from inside the car. (people who have a similar button - not lever)

Thanks a lot all.

Mine sounds the same as yours - a button on the floor near the base of the handbrake, and a 'rubber' button on the tailgate above the number plate.

The thing nearly always opens using the floor button, but using the button on the tailgate is very hit or miss, usually miss, and I have to resort to opening it with the key. I tried adjusting the latch mechanism, but no matter which way I moved it, it only made the tailgate easier/harder to slam shut. Didn't do anything for the operation of the tailgate button.

So not much help for you there!
