Emm,

Have you used those black rollerblind or fixed size sun shields that you stick on your windows with rubber suction cups before?

If you have, then these are exactly like them and made from the same material.

It's illegal to take your front windscreen, driver window and passenger window beyond 30% tints. The other windows on your car can be as dark as you like (IIRC).

The problem with the darkest tints it they are permanant (obvious) and absolutely useless for visibility at night.

I like the light and airy feel of the Multipla and in winter it's nicer to enjoy as much light as poss when there's less glaring sun.

This is why I chose the pop-in ones over tinting. The glass on the Multipla is much more tinted than on my Saab, but then I'm not surprised as it has a great glass area and and it'll heat up sooooo much faster.

The standard glass is actually more comfortable to bear with than the standard glass on my Saab.

yeah ive had those roller blinds on the Brava (including the passenger front window shhh!) I can see through them alright, so if they are like them then thats
Ive also had tints all round on the Turbo Seicento for many years, recently removed the front ones to avoid being pulled over, they were legal when fitted but that was many years ago and now legally they were too dark (im guessing).
Your right about the night vision, it is very limited and takes some getting used too, as mentioned the sei's ones were rather dark compared to some newer type cars ive seen though.
I think i will hold fire on the tints (it was going to be the first thing i modified) untill the ugly bug ball next year, hopefully there will be one fitted with these shades and i can investigate further, the money saving issue is what is making them attractive to me at the mo

That's the same colour as mine, and it's my favourite of all the Multipla colours. Try to look at one in the flesh, as it looks different in a picture. The colour changes with the angle of the light, a bit like those expensive colour change paints but not as pronounced.

(Is that nail in the nearside front tyre, or just a stone ?)

Re: Emmas Multipla Mission

This is probably the nicest colour for a Multipla (IMO), if you're not keen on the sunburst orange of course!!!

I also like that dirty metallic yellow and red too.

I wish my new shape version in metallic black was anything other than black!!! But beggars can't be choosers. I got the car for a bargain £4100 which is a price that some of the newer 2003/4 bug eyes tend to be at dealer or traders.

Hi there ,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fiat-Multipla-...QQcmdZViewItem

These work well but only do the rear door windows i paid £22 from ebay a while ago.
Allitalia is a good garage although it did smart when he took £1100 for work on my alfa 155 q4

Re: Emmas Multipla Mission

Thanks for the links to the sun-shades. We've been driving a bit these past couple of weeks and the children haven't complained about the sun so far. I think they're enjoying seeing so much out of the big windows.

Someone mentioned Multipla portable DVDs. Are they Multipla-specific? How would they differ to others and how much are they, roughly?

Thanks.

Cristina

Re: Emmas Multipla Mission

I have both the clip in shades and also the one's that screw into the doors that clip on to the top of the window.

The only thing I don't like about the latter, is that you leave holes where the shades are screwed in.

And if you wind the window down, the sun will blind you.

Unhappy Re: Emmas Multipla Mission

update

ok, now im getting fed up, everytime i see a Multi i stand and stamp my feet like a child! My first reaction is "ooooooh theres one theres one look look!! quick!!!" then open mouth stylee... "awww its sooo lovely!!" then..que sad face compleate with winey voice...ohhhhhhhhhwa i reeeeeeeally want one"

Im even searching the local free car ad mag looking which garages have them on the forecourt so i can go and drool

So ive kicked my bum into gear and ive finally sorted through the zillions of photos on the puter and narrowed them down for the for sale ad (for my Turbo Sei) this time im gonna do a good ad and get it sold! Multi ownership here i come...well one tiny bit closer to it anyways

Im a regular visitor to the Multipla section of late and thought id introduce myself!

Im Emma (obiously!) im a young 30 year old and live in Cheshire (NW), I have a small family of myself, Boyfriend and Daughter.

We are Fiat nuts and love all Italian metal. Currently we own 5 Fiats, a Uno MK1, Uno MK2, Uno Start, Brava, and a Seicento Turbo (currently for sale).
In the past we have owned between us, more Uno Turbos/Unos, Ford Fiesta, Pug205 GTI, Kitcar, Cinquecento, Seicento Sporting, Fiat 127.

Im desperate for a Multipla atm! I love them!!! All im waiting on is the sale of my Seicento Turbo to fund it. Ive been a bit lazy on the advertising front and really need to get my bum in gear and sort it if im to get my Multi by the end of the summer

The Multi i choose to be mine will in the family to stay So am going to take my tome finding a good un!
Im impressed with the 1.9JTD version, and am in love with the 'orignal' look Multi, I appreciate they are a 'Marmite' car, and the reaction ive had of everyone ive told (and i mean everyone!!) is "ewwwww"
Is this a normal reaction to Multi ownership? Especially amoungnst fellow Fiat owners? Coz im sick of hearing it all ready!!!

I like the optional bodykit, is it called Evolution? So am on the look out for one with this fitted. Might help to know the proper name for it to aid my search, if anyone can enlighten me please

I also have in mind aftermarket alloys and some subtle window tints.

Has anyone reading this fitted aftermarket alloys? What are your experiences of this?

Finally...if youve got this far...thanks for reading! and i hope to be joining you real soon, hopefully i'll be united with a Multi in time for the Ugly Bug Ball next year
