Hi This is my first post although I have been an avid reader of the Multi forum for a couple of years. I love my Multi -an 06 JDT but the reliability is getting to me now. It goes into the dealer for the 4th time in 4 weeks tomorrow. Latest problem is a screaming noise from the RH side of the engine. Diagnosed as a siezed adjustable tightner for the alternator belt. Car is just one month into it's year of dealer warranty and the dealer says the pulley is not covered by the 3rd year warranty.
Does anyone else have any views on this - I can't find any reason in my warranty book as to why the pulley is not covered.
Love the car hate the dealer & the service I get from them - even thinking of going for a Honda FR-V to ease the stress of having to confront my dealer on a weekly basis!!
Wife has a Doblo (04) inlaws just bought a 08 Doblo on our recommondation of the cars but the Doblo does not go near the Fiat dealer anymore.

If you love the motor but hate the Dealer, change the Dealer. But, I think maybe the 3rd year Warranty is Dealer only....? Problem... maybe ask the Dealer to get a FIAT tech to make a judgment call?

Thanks for the suggestion. Not so easy to change dealer when you live in the North of Scotland dealers a bit thin on the ground and travelling every week to the next dealer a bit time consuming.

"Back in the day" I had a similar thing with Arnold Clark in Dundee; my complaint was about roof rack mountings which had been on the car since new, and had corroded badly (due I think to originall bad fitting, but this was un-provable). The car was under three years old; Arnold Clark claimed the roofrack was an accessory and not covered by warrenty. I asked them the cost to supply a new rack, then wrote to Fiat U.K. They sent me vouchers to cover the cost, so I was able to get the roofrack free of charge from Arnold Cark.

It's certainly worth writing to Fiat on this one; alternators and drive belts are not accessories........................Jim.
