under the bonnet....
Hello fellow MI members and FiatForumers!:D

So I've decided to revive the Punto MK2 that packed in on last sunday (MITCAR) unfortunately that was the worse time of my life!:(

So, this where you lot come into this, I am asking nicely if anyone would be interested in attending the next MI Meet which homeward has kindly said it can be the next meet where everyone will come together and all chip in and strip it down and put a new engine in, we need a lot of man power for this, it's not a simple task no but we can all pull together and bring it back to life, I even have the PDF version of Haynes for the Punto MK2 so we can rely on that as well for guidelines!

I will provide food and coffee/tea/squash whatever as in return for your hard work, let's make this a first FiatForum mini meet Engine Rebuild!!!

Let's all discuss a date that is suitable for everyone!

If anyone has any tools laying around in their garages, sheds etc please bring them with you we will need as many tools as possible!

Downside to this I would need someone to collect the engine as its in two (bottom end and cylinder head).

Anyone that's got mechanical knowledge feel free to come along, more the better heck we will even take pictures of our success!:D

You guys up for it?
Reuuk , dombooth , Wisey , MrMurray20 , Petento

Thanks,
Ben

Like I said before ben I'm not too mechanically gifted but I'd love to come along assist in any way and like I said also I'd love to document it for the forum. It's like a team building exercise ;) who need paintballing and go karting when we can revive cars :p I'm definitely up for it and then you can come to the meet I've being trying to put together in your own car. Win win

You don't need to me all we need a lot of man power, everyone chip in and we can pull this off get the new engine in, get everything done correctly wire everything up, and start her up and listen to the sound of success!:)

We can go somewhere for a group photo, with my punto in the middle of everyone(y)

I'm game if the date is available for with my days of hell if me and Ellie are together by then I may even fetch her down and introduce her to the ff crew :)

Can't help because I'm a) too far away and b) hopeless with anything mechanical but looking forward to seeing a rebuild thread and wishing you luck.

What I can do is reinforce the notion that fix-it meets are great fun because it's something we're currently doing up north (closer to the arctic ocean than oop north for those of the southern mindset ;))

Food, music, constant banter and enthusiasm are the key we've found so far. Oh and ingenuity when all else fails

also know as hammering the **** out of things

The only tip I can throw at you is to try and have someone onhand not involved in the rebuild to take photos and notes. It makes life much easier when writing your updates later and saves getting your phones covered in oil/grease etc.

How m20b25 manages I have no idea but much respect for his threads :worship:

We have our founder homeward who will be on the side, so he'll be the one taking notes and photos(y)

Nice one (y) Looking forward to reading the thread for this and maybe seeing the rebuilt car if I make it south for some shows next year - the maybe being on my part rather than yours :cool:

Oh there will be thread covering the rebuild from start to finish and a picture of everyone who was involved in the rebuild with everyone with a smile on their faces(y)

Keep your eyes pealed:)
