Stilo My second Stilo (Schumacher)

Introduction

Picked up an absolute bargain yesterday- Stilo Schumacher GP no 035.

I flew from NI to the mainland yesterday, sat on public transport for 6 hours, drove her back to Liverpool (gingerly) and finally got home this morning. Needless to say I really wanted a Schumacher.

I've got a long to do list made-

Coil packs
Oil filter
Oil
Spark plugs
Air filter
Thermostat
Temp sensor
Coolant
Cam belt kit
Aux belt
Tyres
Tracking
Grease gear linkages
Central locking - fuel cap doesn't lock
Radio popping
Clean AICV
Filler cap strap

Some I know needs done, some is just for my own piece of mind. I'd best get stuck in, so I'll just leave this here for now :)
zieonth looking good, I nearly bought 186 a few years ago :D

That's definitely not quite standard. You've got an OMP strut brace, GSR rad hose, custom engine cover and what I assume is a K&N typhoon?

Induction, exhaust and remap will do wonders for the 2.4. The head is pretty free flowing but legend has it that Fiat massively restricted the airflow to get it through emissions.

Other mods are a bit more difficult- fast road cams, forged pistons, forged conrods and injectors are the way to more (reliable) power from here.

Hi Zieonth I hope you enjoy the car. I owned this model (186) for 4 years and christened him "Enzo" and I miss him very much :) click this link below for full details of my ownership of him

In short yes he has been modified some of it was like it when I bought it but most including the leather seats, cruise control, the brace and that awesome cam cover were all me :) look after him he was a real head turner (y)

Small world, it was about then I considered buying him :). He previously belonged to a guy on here called Nick if memory serves?

Yes that's right shooweenick or something like that. He was from Essex way and when he sold it, it ended up in Birmingham which is where I bought it from.

My apologies I just realised I quoted the wrong person lol

Love to get my hands on this magazine, auto Italia where the car was featured at some point, I like the name Enzo

Found this old pictures, mods look different, can anyone shed any light

Yes these were done on my watch too. Autoitalia wanted to do a buyers guide on the stilo and asked on here if anyone was interested and I put my name forward as I've always wanted a car featured in a magazine. It was a fun day out I had to drive to Kent to where the studio was - the most unusual place it was just a large wooden shed, you would never have guessed looking at the photos that it was done their. I have a copy here with me but I couldn't part with it I'm afraid but I'm sure one will turn up on eBay

Is there any chance you could scan and email pictures from magazine, I cant read the print

Here's some more :)

It was a well sorted car when it left me. When I got it, i found out a member on here had it and had it chipped to 204bhp - this was proven as I found the picture of it on the rolling road and a picture of the printout. It was also de badged when I got it too. I didn't do any external mods as such as it was just perfect except I widened the track by 20mm to fill the arches out. I fitted the OMP strut brace and i also fitted lower subframe and rear axle braces too but I removed them before I sold it on. The cam cover was off a coupe and I fitted the polished intake pipe as the old GSR one wouldn't fit on the air box properly. It had a (or should still have) a K&N panel filter in. And it's not long had a thermostat fitted too :) I also fitted as very smart Abarth 500 steering wheel too at great expense (and certain risk as I had to modify the boss so it would fit) is it still there? The wheels look a lot darker than when I had it so it looks like they were redone after my ownership

Any other pictures? It's really interesting to find previous owners and where the car has been, its in limerick, Ireland now

I'm afraid I don't have a scanner - or a printer for that matter atm as it broke last year

The article itself wasn't about Enzo it was about the stilo in general so you could google "stilo" and still get road test reports if that's what your after

Wow, this is great to find out this stuff, it's still has the 500 steering wheel and looks great, not to keen on the momo gear nob so I've just bought a standard Stilo one on eBay, I also just painted the grills as they were red and now a lovely Stella grey to match the new refurbished alloys, the car also has leather and I didn't think the schumacher had leather, the rear seat look new but the front look different and very worn, I'm going to get them retrimed soon
