Hi

My Grande 1,4 2008 is not starting.

I have checked the fuel pump, the fuel cut off switch, fitted new battery, filled with fuel.

Still not firing up. The starer was sticking before this problem but would eventually start.

Could I still get a spark and would the engine still turn if the starter was faulty???

Or am I better trying to get a diagnostic test done??

Someone mentioned censors of the timing belt and cam shaft.

Any help much appreciated

Look at FAQs top of GP section.

Possibilty it is the main earth cable failing

Where are you..the car based..??

Hi Charlie

I am in the Glasgow area.

What are the symptoms if the earth cable is faulty because the engine seems to have plenty of power getting thru to it. All electrics are working fine.

The engine just sounds as if there is no fuel getting thru.
 
The engine relies on sensors to get the timing of spark and fuel correct..
So a bad electrical supply to any can be a problem.

IDEA.. disconnect battery power for a couple of hours..then reconned..it may just reset something.

Does it chuff and phutt..or just turn over..??
 
It is a rapid turn over of the engine Charlie.

As I said there is plenty of life in the engine just no ignition.
