Cinquecento Hensey's 1386 16v build

Introduction

Some may or may not know my 1242 8v Schumacher seicento build thread here:
https://www.fiatforum.com/showthread.php?t=428240

But anyway I been lusting for a Cinq for a very long time and a good friend of mine decided it was time to get rid off his so I couldn't say no for the price
Spec at the min from what previous owner has told me is
P75 engine (inlet manifold is broken so if anyone has a spare lying around give me a pm)
P55 six speed gearbox
Comp m05s
Lowered 40mm
Pollybushed here and there have found the rear trailing arm and tbelt engine mount bushes in the boot
Pgt brakes all round with drilled and groved discs
Omp steering wheel and maybe an omp boss
Yellow Lockwood cluster faces
Full supersprint exhaust system including super sprint 4-2-1 manifold
Meant to have a 40mm tb haven't checked this yet

And maybe a few other bits and bobs I've missed or I haven't found yet

Currently the heads off the engine it come with every thing to refit but some how the inlet manifold has been broken so I need for find one or another head with one and needs the rear callipers re fitting the are brand new in a box in the boot i've looked all over and the only rot I can find is in the wheel arches

So the game plan is to get it running and driving so I can make sure the running gears okay then straight onto getting her looking nice

Now boost is loading I am in the process of buying parts as and when they come up forsale or Making it myself but so far I've got a manifold and decomp plate

Right so now to some pictures of the old girl IMG_1474743714.358328.jpg

So new steering wheel of the other half for Christmas nardi 330mm semi corn
IMG_4409.JPG
IMG_4411.JPG

Then realised nardis have a different pcd to most other steering wheels so adapter was in Order
IMG_4466.JPG
IMG_4451.JPG
IMG_4450.JPG

Need to file down the center to fit the horn button

Then went to the scrap yard to find a lower pulley to get the belts to line up found the one I needed on a late mk2/b engine
IMG_4480.JPG
IMG_4484.JPG
Then clearanced the mount still a little close for my liking

So went back to the old 8v setup with some spacers behind the alt
IMG_4489.JPG
IMG_4488.JPG

So trying to done bulk post here so this ones pretty big
8v is now out of the Cinq awaiting for my girlfriend to sort the garage out at hers so it can be fitted into hers along with a long list of parts (will get her to Start a build thread when the time comes)

IMG_4508.JPG
IMG_4514.JPG
IMG_4515.JPG

Cinq was hensey powered for some short time
IMG_4517.JPG

The 16v and the c514.6 meeting for the first time
IMG_4516.JPG
IMG_4530.JPG

Got the engine bay snowfoamed and rinsed of now have a good base to start
IMG_4529.JPG
IMG_4531.JPG

Was going to fit and Sei mpi pas rack while the engine was out but couldn’t find one for the right money so carried on with fitting the 16v
IMG_4652.JPG
IMG_4653.JPG
IMG_4654.JPG
IMG_4655.JPG

Then found I might have some issues when fitting the upper brace when the times comes so ideally need to find a straight spi brace or the curved mpi Sei brace
IMG_4656.JPG
IMG_4657.JPG

Also brought a new set of top mounts along with a new pair of bilstein b4s for the the front that should hopefully be with me tomorrow so I can then refit the shafts and Finally get the New spax springs fitted
IMG_4634.JPG
IMG_4668.JPG
IMG_4669.JPG

Come home from work and got a few odds done like gearbox’s linkages throttle cable and also did reconnect the clutch cable but now since decided it really needs a new one and the correct nut for it
IMG_4664.JPG
IMG_4667.JPG
IMG_4665.JPG

Also had a little play around with were of like to fit the cda
IMG_4663.JPG

Then today got the loom in and ready to extend and repair some of the wiring then also had a look at getting the d4 modded

Looking good James what did the throttle body come off of ?
are you using the Cinq gearbox or the 6 speed?

Cheers [emoji1360] keep the updates coming it’s helpful for me doing mine.

So Long story short haven’t got her running yet but brought another engine loom and ecu off Duncan as it’s already extended to go into the cento bay and the key could be took apart to swap the chip into my key so hopefully aslong as I can use the Cinq antenna I’ll have a working imob just like I would have been with the 8v
IMG_4729.JPG

Brought a new crank sensor and got it fitted also run it done the chassis leg along with the oil pressure switch wiring
IMG_4736.JPG

Then decided as the battery will now live in the boot I decided to remove the battery tray and fit my catch can in the same location
IMG_4738.JPG

The abarth kit also went off to be painted along with the abarth skirts for my other halfs Cinq,

Also brought a new backbox in the way of a magnex stainless item should fit the abarth apron nicely just have to make the rest of the system out of 2” so should be 2” from the manifold back into some kind of sports cat then into this box that I believe is 1.75”
IMG_4785.JPG

While I was test fitting the exhaust and had the bumper off Dad suggested it’d be a good idea to get the welding sorted so got around doing that stated but cutting as much rot out as I possibly could, then made up some plates and got them welded in. Additionally my welding isn’t perfect but there’s only one way I’m going to learn just got to seam seal it and get it under sealed
IMG_4787.JPG
IMG_4790.JPG
IMG_4791.JPG
IMG_4792.JPG

Then last but not least cut the front bumper up and for the abarth kit test fitted :)

Ah man its so nice having the car finally one colour looks exactly like I wanted it too now to get her running

they are tight chap, you have to trim the bolt on the headlight so its flush when the nut is screwed on as they sit right near the cam pulley... that said, it is possible to have the belt cover on still. And firm up the engine mounts so it doesnt rock into the headlight - i just filled new mounts with tigerseal and thats what i'd do again on a road car, poly engine mounts are a bit intense on a road car imo, perhaps i am just getting too old lol.

Battery and everything fits just as it did.

So good news the 16vs running
https://youtu.be/VMOIY8cBcb0

Now just got to finish the center section of the exhaust with a sports cat
IMG_4996.JPG

Battery relocation bar and harness bar also fitted
IMG_4997.JPG

Also started fitting gauges oil pressure oil temp and a wideband
IMG_4998.JPG
IMG_4999.JPG

And now she’s parked on the drive for abit while I fit the old p75 in my girlfriends cinq
IMG_5015.JPG
IMG_5019.JPG

Well this has happened new clutch and timing belt fitted to the 16v while it was back out on the floor due to a slight issue with the engine locking up everytime I bolted the box up turned out to be an issue with the thrust bearing
IMG_5069.JPG
IMG_5118.JPG

All back in and running
IMG_5124.JPG

Then made the center section of exhaust
IMG_0291.jpeg

Sounds good to me

Then.... found out I’ve cranked the sump when I put the engine back in

IMG_5154.JPG

Then got hold of the last water pipe I needed surprisingly the pipe from an mpi Sei is a perfect fit
IMG_5169.JPG
IMG_5170.JPG

Now it’s the final push to get it drivable for brooklands

Looking really good James you’ve made great progress keep the updates coming it’s helping me with doing mine. :)

chii's front bumper will be going on with my apron seemed like having a yellow bumper would be easier to paint then having to plastic prime the unpainted one ect
