Panda 2012+ New Panda Cross

Introduction

Had a Panda Cross for a week now, after waiting two months for it to come. I'm beginning to think these are quite exclusive - I haven't seen a single other one in the wild!
I don't see why not, although I went with a more utalitarian approach and chose an uprack to be able to mount auxilliary lighting. I would like to continue in this direction, has anybody seen a lift kit and winch bumper kit for the Cross?

I don't know of a "kit" per se, but Prometeo Meccanica make a set of lifting spacers, along with some hub centric spacers to fix the track width. Eibach camber bolts can be used to correct the camber resulting from the overextension of the front Mcpherson struts. I also know there's a Warn winch that fits into the 4x4 bumper with a mounting kit (I think it was Taubenreuther that made the winch kit), which might work for the Cross as well.

Mine originally had the wrong ones supplied. They were emblazoned 4x4 but the fixing holes didn't align with the nipples and the drivers one slipped about. Perrys replaced them with the same ones you have, just marked Panda, and all is well.

These are technically the wrong ones as they have the old logo on them. The catalogue shows a 2015 one with the new 'space-age' logo. Never mind, these are the right size and shape and the fittings line up. I'm just glad to have them at last!

I like the fact that the cross bars are not too high off the roof, my none Cross 4x4 has the close fitting black rails, which are ok but when you then fit Thule wing bars they are way too high because of the high fitting kit. I may try to modify things in the future.
I’m in Mid Wales and the Cross is a rarely see beast but the 4x4 is more often seen.
The winter weather will bring them out I’m sure.

Hi Mark,

Great looking Panda - I have mine coming in a few weeks ?

Are they the Thule wing bars ? and do they match the rails on the car - not that I'm fussy or anything ?

Thanks,

Mitch

Hi Mitch. Yes, they're the Thule Wingbar Edge and they come in a specific fit (shorter) for the Panda Cross. From memory they are about £100 more than the Fiat ones, which I think are just a cheaper Thule product branded as Fiat, but they look like they belong.

Same colour as my Cross

I'm thinking of getting some of those Thule rails and using the fronts to mount an LED lightbar or spots and run the wires down the B Pillar or similar.

Great post! I had fun exploring the limits of mine today, too - it just took everything in its stride. Only problem was getting around the Mercs and BMWs that were slipping and sliding aots

Yes, it's the first time I had any real use for the 4WD and I was amazed at how grippy it was! You can get it to slide but it quickly sorts itself out.
