Hi there new to the forum was wondering if anyone could help.
I have a punto 2003 with a gearbox fault, looking to replace it but need the serial numbers off it...anyone know the location of them so I can find a replacing gear box?

If you look up second hand gearboxes you will sometimes see they are quoting the casting number that appears just to the left and above the oil filling plug nearest the radiator half way up the gear box.

However, you might get a different gear ratio if you only rely on that? I am not sure. For example my punto two wheel drive and the panda 4 wheel drive are using the same casting number so I am supposing the outer case is the same part.

So i suppose if it same car same gear box casting number you should be ok.
