Cinquecento My 1994 Cinquecento SX 0.9

Introduction

Welcome to the progress thread for my 1994 Fiat Cinquecento SX

Hello! - I have recently acquired a 94' Cinq SX, This will be my 5th Cinquecento & one I do not intend to split ways with.
I have gone back to what I started with 7 years ago when I bought my first car, a 1993 Cinquecento SX, Witch I kept till I bought a lovely red Sporting... witch I wrote off (n) and got a very cheap S witch I ran out of money to keep. :p

After a year or two on a scooter I bought a nice yellow Sporting witch I loved.. but unfortunately the massive amounts of rust was to much of a project for me, at the time given as it was my only car.

However I return, I bought this car only as a project/fun car and have another daily vehicle, along with a larger budget!

So enough of the blab, here is the beast.

Very clean, Silver SX with 39,000miles, No rust found  YET. only minor surface rust on suspension and brake components as you would expect with any car in the UK.

I suspect the radio would be dealer fitted, so depending on which dealer the car was bought from you'd get whatever radios they were fitting at the time, another dealer might've fitted a different radio. Fiat have used Grundig radios before so definitely a possibility.

Lovely car though, are those electric windows?? I didn't know Cinq's ever came with them!

Yes, every SX and Sporting had electric windows, S models where the only ones that didn't, they also didn't have sunroofs. (I don't know about special editions. I think the soleil was basically a SX with a full length sunroof.) the sporting had leather steering wheel, center console and sporting seats also.. I think some of the later SX's may have had center consoles too.

Life of luxury ;)

Can anyone help me out a little bit managed to acquire a second cinq with exactly the same engine as was in mine however it was so long ago I had taken the old one out and forgot to take pictures of everything I can't remember where everything went! Is running now a little lumpy and keeps over revving so I'm sure a few pipes have been Miss fitted. Can anyone kindly post some engine pics up close with good clarity! Many thanks Dan btw this is my little beast I've had for two years and spent way to much time and money on! :D

thermostat is a issue as the sender that goes into the one on the car is around H12 an the new one I was sent is something around H8
I went to every car parts place and none had another thermostat in stock, nore did they have the smaller sender unit, I went to a tool shop to get a thread tap but none of the threads matched the ones on the thermostats:bang:
So just have to wait till next week when I can get one ordered in.:(

Suspension was a pain in the ass too, as everything was done up with super super thread lock, even with a 3ft bar it was hard work and the ratchet only did one or two tics :(

Hope I have more luck with the rear tomorrow :)
Current right height..:slayer::slayer::slayer::slayer::slayer:

Had a lot of trouble getting the bushes out on the rear..
Made a tool, that turned out to be extremely dangerous tool that just fired a metal rod off at high speed...
IMG_20160828_160219351.jpg

Made a much smaller, safer tool and managed to get them out, with the help of a hacksaw also..(y)

Getting ready for the bushes to go back in.. tomorrow now, I wasted to much time today breaking things.

Does anyone know anything about the 'RAPID 200' Alarm?
I don't have a fob for it, it hasn't done anything till I disconnected the battery to install the heater matrix and then I reinstalled the battery it went off.
So had to very quickly disconnect it, but not sure how its wired up it seems to be a bit of a maze.
(I'm sure my neighbers love me:p)
