Punto (Mk2/2b) Marcelline the 1.4 Sporting

Had a busy afternoon. Thermostat and coolant temperature sensor replaced, coolant flushed and replaced and now working perfectly. Spark plugs replaced, oil and filter changed, and installed a new front grill as the original was a bit damaged and had the wrong size badge on.

Damn stubborn oil filter though.

If you would like to do timing belt etc get bits & I will bring my timing tools next time I am up Yorkshire way

Belts are next on the agenda, 72kish and I doubt they've ever been changed. She has aircon btw, never even noticed until today!

I would have got pics of the new grill but I didn't have time to clean the rest of the car

tlo I'm gonna lie and say it's perfect, there're a few spots of rust here and there showing through the paint, and some scratches and I doubt the previous owners ever had it serviced, but for the price I can't complain because as blu73 says, parts are cheap!

I did notice when I was poking around the engine bay that all of the plastic parts in there are super brittle. Almost all of the cable protection disintegrated at the slightest touch, 2/3 of the lugs to hold the airbox down just imploded when I removed it and who knows what also that I haven't come across yet. But it works, it gets me to work and back and has enough poke to make the drive fun, which it really wasn't in the Pajero.

I wouldn't know were to start with mine lol I think I will have to start my own thread

Aux belt has arrived, timing belt kit left Italy this morning so might have that by the end of the week

will have to sort when to visit soon then lol... one weekend, preferably before forzalive i guess

Aye near the end of the month as hopefully should have the new pipework for the Sei too by then.

is there a weekend when Lucy isn't working? Amy might come if she has a Lucy to hang out with, I doubt she wants to sit and watch us play cars though haha
