Punto (Mk2/2b) My 8v Punto Project

Introduction

Hey everyone, been lurking round this site for far too long without making any posts or showing my car. This is more of a way to document what I've done to my car but if it helps anybody else out or they enjoy reading through it then that's great also :).

Mods List:
ASH Induction Kit
50mm Lowering Springs
Cherry Bomb exhaust (I know, I know, but there's a silencer in my mid pipe so it's only just louder than stock.)
OMP Race Wheel
OMP Boss Kit
Jet fuel colour steel gear knob
Black Fly Eye headlight tint
Plastidipped front & rear badge
Rear De-wipered

Future mods:
MK2 Active Sport rear tailgate
17's (possibly)
Get a few of the dings and dents sorted out.
Red/Yellow callipers (can't decide on a colour)
Alfa Seats? (not sure which ones fit or how easy they are to put in)

Alright, only got a few pictures as I only lowered it a few days ago. Plus, I'm halfway through taking the scrub strips off. (which are a pain in the arse?)

Ignore the abarth sticker, it was on when I bought it and I just haven't got round to removing the thing yet!

Cheers,
Lucas :)

Woke up to my mum saying that my step dad had reversed the pick up into my car. It's not like it isn't bright enough to see ? Anyway, thought it was a good time to order some pressed plates, I've ordered a square one for the front to see if I can mount it in a nicer position? Kinda like how Evos have them?

As for the massive crack, I'm not sure (maybe plastic weld it?)

Try plastic weld first. Don't get a square plate they don't look right on puntos , get a standard plate and cut it down a little at the sides and round the corners off.

Yeah I think I'll try to plastic weld it first. Already ordered a square one but I'm gonna order a standard one as well and just rotate between them ??

After a recommendation from Fiatpuntomk2b I bought myself a second pressed plate with the intention of cutting it down and rounding it off. I got the grinder out and went to work, but the plate quickly started melting and discolouring which meant I had to take it steady. After I got my desired shape I got the sanding wheel on and cleaned it up a little bit. Here's the result:

Haven't been round in a while, so a quick update is due:

Passed its MOT after a new midbox
Finally peeled off most of that plastidip

Still don't know what colour to have my wheels done at all!

I'm not a fan of the number plate, works fine on alfas and other cars were they open up the grill from bonnet to ground but, just looks on the wonk with yours,

The rest of the car looks great mind !

Cheers! yeah I'll be honest I've only moved it there while I get the bumper fixed so it's a temporary thing. Sorry for the late reply as well!

A little update as well, I got given a BMC CDA Lupo GTi filter from one of the lads at work, gonna try and see if I can make it fit seen as it's an expensive bit of kit

Alright little update, I've bought some Fiat Coupe 16VT alloys from Derby and I'm off to collect them on Thursday. I'm gonna get them refurb'd and sprayed anthracite as soon as possible. Not sure I've ever seen a Punto on the 16VT Coupe wheels before so it should be something new!

Flew down to Sutton-in-Ashfield today in the Doblo, picked up the wheels and realised the wheel bolts from my Active Sport wheels aren't long enough. So after a call to AP Tyres & Alloys (V. helpful and quick) they sorted me out with some longer bolts so that I didn't end up cross threading the hub. I think I need spacers though, the shocker bolt on the rear is very close and it rubs on the front on full lock.

I kinda like the look though, kinda looks retro and the wheels fill the arches so much better. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea but you've got to be different! (Don't worry they're going to be refurb'd in an anthracite grey too)
