Panda 2012+ Fiammetta

Introduction

Fiammetta - 'Little Flame'

I picked up my cancan red 1.2 Lounge two weeks ago. She's my first ever car (a rather delayed 15 years after getting my licence). I'm still getting to grips with being back on the road after a few years' break, but have already clocked up over 200 miles and am very happy with my Panda so far. As a first car I think I've made a good choice.

I added Blue&Me, 60/40 rear seats and parking sensors.

Fiammetta has just been on her first long road trip. Nearly 1000 miles added to the clock in a few days and she did brilliantly. I was surprised how comfortable she is, even at the end of a long day's driving. It was 324 miles to the Airbnb, so with current fuel prices it was only about £30 each way. I feel she's properly broken in now and ready for more adventures.

Haha the weather was surprising good with lots of sunny skies, so no trickery, just an iPhone and Instagram :D. I was hoping to see the northern lights but sadly missed out. Typically there was a good display in Norfolk while I was away

I hadn't spotted this deviation from the original thread. You can read more about the building here: https://www.adaptcbe.co.uk/CBE/design-team.xhtml (the company I work for were involved)

The thatch panels on the outside were pre-made offsite and attached to the frame of the building towards the end of the build. Even it the crows do tug bits out, they will still protect the structure and can be replaced later if needed. The thatched roof is lovely - I got up close to it during the construction. But I've not been back to see it now its all complete.

I visit it several times a week for various purposes and walk past it on a daily basis. The jury's still out on how it's going to look after a year or so of wear and tear. And it got quite parky in there when the temperatures dipped a few weeks ago. I guess that's the price you pay for chasing the "lowest carbon footprint on the planet" award.

Same in the Bob Champion building; apparently the way to get a low carbon award is by not having any heating. Doesn't make for a great working environment though

We were tempted by the Citigo/Up! until we actually got up close to them.

They sound very diesely when idling, so much so I got out and lifted the bonnet to check and they have an annoying gearbox rattle/lash/whine.

Youngest daughter just got her first car - Panda Easy + and very nice it is too.
Eldest daughter got a Vauxhall Adam.
Wife got a Citigo (in fact 2nd one, 62 plate then 64 plate).

I can tell you now that the Citigo is the best of the lot to drive, most willing engine (3 pot) and best handling of the 3 cars. Plus the economy is brilliant.

Panda however is ridiculous on the current Fiat Finance offers - £100 a month x48 and only a £2k balloon payment. Piece of mind for 3 years with the warranty and the spec levels are excellent !! Daughter is well chuffed

The Vauxhall Adam - well that's just crap lol.
