Punto Evo kidpunto's White Punto Evo Sporting

Introduction

Previously Owned a 1.2 Grande Punto and wanted the next step up. It had to be something with style, speed and elegance. Refused to have the common sheep vehicles like a fiesta or corsa and couldn't set on a french car or owning another yaris. But the answer lied with a Punto Evo sporting, Yes Yes! :yum:

Currently had the Sporting for one month and has occupied a lot of my time in small subtile mods that don't break the bank but has allowed it to be unique. Aiming for a two tone colour scheme Black on white.

Finally logged back into my account now that I have some new upgrades to start :D

Had my MOT done in March and was a costly one. Had to fit new tyres as one was not road legal while the other 3's tread was low. Decided to get 4 x Rainsport 3's at £350 delivered and fitted on the drive.

The tyres are a big upgrade on the previous ones, feel more glued to the road with better stopping distance. These tyres apparently perform great in the rain too.

On the advisory MOT were corroded springs + rear silencer. Still had life in them but is a ticking time bomb. Therefore I have penciled the below upgrades:

- Aftermarket custom exhaust - completed today
- Eibach Pro Kit Springs - scheduled for Thursday
- Smoked side repeaters from TMC - scheduled for July

The weather is poo and can't upload any photo's / videos of my exhaust but has left a permanent smile on my face :D with the difference it makes to the car. I should have something for the weekend once the rain has stopped. I can't give my car a proper throttle on the road with some roads flooded.

Below are some images of a sticker I placed on the car way back in March. You should like it if your into Jungle / Drum and Bass :slayer:

Nice one man, I've just installed a k&n induction kit onto mine and certainly makes it sound more throaty when you give it full throttle, I'm gonna be getting coil overs and a custom cutback made up for mine soon

What coil overs you planning on buying? If I had the money I would of got some over normal lowering springs.

And what the custom cutback for? An exhaust?

Either blistien or km and yh an exhaust system from the catalytic converter back to the silencer

Do it! This is basically what I have had done today:

1. Chopped off the old backbox and exhaust. The outler layer of steel was correded, which was hanging off. Researching the forums, this is a common fault on punto's as they don't use stainless steel on stock. Removed all old pipes back to the Catconverter

2. We then tested the natural sound which was delightfully raw and loud. Even without no backbox, it wasn't overly aggressive however decided on a very small backbox for peace of mind. Didn't want a headache when driving on the motorway

3. Looked at a few exhausts for my car. The cut-out on the bumper is really only big enough for a single exhaust. We looked at 2 x small pipes which would fit however looked like a toy car. Eventually went for the biggest oval slice-back style exhaust we could fit.

Overall definatley would recommend it. The garages takes photo's and videos of most cars they work on. As soon as he has uploaded, I will link you to it. It won't disappoint

Just dropped the car off at the garage looking to get the below Eibach Pro Kit springs fitted. Was slightly confused that the Pro Kit are red and not black as advertised however TMC have confirmed this is correct... Phew

Hey, how do you like the lowering springs? Would you happen to have a before/after picture? I got a sporting in exactly the same spec as yours :) I was wondering about the springs since i think a sporting is already lower than an standard one. Does it still drop the promised inch?

They are great, it lowers it by an inch and you can definitely tell when washing the car, the roof feels alot lower.

1inch is a great amount for me, you can feel the road more and feels like it can handle corners better as long as you have good tyres haha. However sometimes from looking at the rear, it feels I should if dropped it an extra inch due to the rear bumper's design.
