Punto (Mk2/2b) Punto mk2b 1.2 16v Sporting

If you going to be doing the calipers - ensure you clamp the brake line if you plan on removing them entirely

If you paint the whole thing
Ensure you then clean off the friction spots where the pads sit -otherwise it'll just get stuck

Ziggy

I've painted them red before how you said but thanks for the heads up anyway :)

Re: Future Plans

Ha but lowering the wheel size ;)

I did just have a look and sporting alloys are actually 6j wide :)

Decreasing the size, i'm bound to be able to tell the difference. Then again I do have a black box in my car - not that it stops me from thrashing it all the time :ROFLMAO:

Thanks, I ended up needing 4 cans to get an even coat on all of them. Luckily I only live a few miles away from the Plastidip HQ :D So I got some new ones pretty quickly after realising I wouldn't have enough. I did end up rubbing some of the paint off while putting the wheel bolts back in so be super careful!

As for the induction kit an air filter will probably set you back around £50 for a K&N or other performance brand. I bought all the pipes from autosiliconehoses.com for about £50 but I did spend a bit more while trying to work out what I needed.

It might seem like a lot for what it is, but it does look and sound good! PM me if you want to know all the details

not that much then and lol lucky you i dont know wether to do them a dark gun metal or just black i might just do a tester on a stealy lol also if you know it off the top of your head what mm is the top of the TB as i cant find it anywere on the net :bang: and i will just go from there im liking the blue and chrome you have going on there but i have not decided on a color yet so its a toughy my sporting is yellow so you can imagine how hard it is to find a color but im hoping i can get some yellow tubing for the induction kit if not ill just have to do it the old fashioned way and paint it lol.

and spending £100 on a custom induction kit you designed is better than spending £150 to £200 on a kit that everyone else has atleast this way we feel more accomplished with the work we put in (y)

I'm planning on getting some gun metal alloys in a few weeks (y)

If you have a 1.2 16v the throttle body is 51mm outside diameter I believe

Love the colour of your Punto :)

Was the plastidip easy to do? Never done it before

Thanks :) Yeah it was surprisingly easy compared to most spray cans, it is very forgiving in terms of coverage! I only managed about 3 good coats of black over 2 layers of primer but the results were fab :D

Ordered new wheels - 15 inch MSW 85's on 195/50r15 toyo t1r's. Sadly I'm on holiday until next weekend so my friend is taking the delivery and I should have some pics up next week
