Punto (Mk2/2b) My daily

Introduction

Fat Amy

Thought it was about time I showed you guys a very few pictures of my 2005 mk2b.. It's the trusty old 1.2 8V! I got it back in end of January this year, when my grandma decided it was time to buy a new car - so it's well taken care of, under body sealant and low mileage (only done ~111500km now).
I obviously have no intentions of keeping it stock, and seeing as I'm into HiFi, the first thing I got for the car was a new headunit and door speakers. It would go into limp-home mode, so you wouldn't go anywhere. And I am running no cat, I've got free flow all the way to the back box.

I'm decat with GSR and straight through, both lambdas plugged in. Had the engine light come on once which I cleared about 6 months ago, had nothing since. Been mot'd and done a out 2k miles with no issues. Never had limp mode when the light did come on.

Having them plugged in is a different story than unplugging them.. :)
Also, my best guess is that my fuel economy won't really be affected, since the 2nd lambda sees just about what it did before, so it won't adjust fuel injection :)

2016 End Review:
My 2nd year with the Punto have now passed - and for the most part trouble free. I am however starting to see minor signs of old age, but am hoping to keep it going for another 4 years - it has done just shy of 166000km (103000mi) by now, so the engine should last that time out, with my relatively high mileage.
I had an injector die on me a couple months ago, and there seems to be a moisture related injection problem as well, that I have yet to source. The timing belt is due in a couple months time, and I will have the head shimmed at the same time, as well as fitting an 866 cam. I still plan on doing a track day or two this year.
The new year will however be started off with new plugs, o2 sensors and a fresh round of engine oil - soon to be followed by a clutch!

Stats:
1707L of petrol burned - 30.477km driven - 17,8km/l avg (50,4 UK MPG).

Would you be able to post those old O2 sensors to me in Finland please if you have no use for them?

Fitted a new clutch today - the old one was the factory fitted one, and hadn't started slipping yet! It's done 171000km (106300mi) - I'm quite impressed, especially considering how I've been driving that car sometimes! It was showing quite a bit of wear though, and a few of the grooves was gone towards the outer edge, so it wouldn't have lasted that much longer.

Re: Fat Amy

Roadtrip to Poland last week with a total of about 3500km. An ABS ring went bust, so swapped both rear wheel bearings on Monday. MOT cleared yesterday with no advisories, so I'm good for another two years in the Punto! ?

200.000km mark coming up this week!
