Punto (Mk2/2b) My daily

Introduction

Fat Amy

Thought it was about time I showed you guys a very few pictures of my 2005 mk2b.. It's the trusty old 1.2 8V! I got it back in end of January this year, when my grandma decided it was time to buy a new car - so it's well taken care of, under body sealant and low mileage (only done ~111500km now).
I obviously have no intentions of keeping it stock, and seeing as I'm into HiFi, the first thing I got for the car was a new headunit and door speakers. 2015 End Review:
It has been a year with both ups and downs for me and the Punto, but overall I'm quite pleased with my first year as a car owner. My biggest expenditures has undoubtedly been coil packs and ECU, along with exhaust just before Christmas. In the end I'm quite pleased that it just starts and drives every day, and keeps going no matter what I throw after it - cruising along the motorway for several hundred kilometres or a track day. I still have some leftovers I didn't manage (or rather didn't bother) fixing through the year - namely the interior fan squeaking, and the left rear door sticking in the cables.
Now another year is coming, and I'm already in full swing with new plans - have a new steering wheel to be fitted, as well as an amplifier for my speakers. I'm excited to see what the future holds for my Punto-adventure!

Stats:
1555L of petrol burned - 27.667km driven - 17,4km/l avg (49,1 UK MPG).

Its me who he bought it from you will struggle to find it anywhere even from fiat i found it on a ebay ad and bought without thinking.
Iv only ever seen it on a pic on front of a mk2/b sales brochure or something.

Upgraded the ignition system today - Bosch coil pack (same model as on the 1.2 16V) and a custom set of Magnecor Electrosports 80. I'll gap the spark plugs sometime, but for now this is it.
Initial thoughts is that the throttle response seem to be a tad smoother, and generally the engine response has gotten better. No more low speed juddering, warm or cold. It most certainly runs better.

Blimey you are about to have lots of stuff on this vehicle, hope you have fun doing it!

Hi, I like your car. Where did you get the upgraded cam? Are the alfa seats and steering wheel an instant fit?(y)

Thanks!, Does it fit in the Punto MK1? Or either way, in the Lancia Ypsilon '99 ? I think those 2 might be the same.

And what about the (i dont know the english word) blue wiring that goes to ur sparkplugs, coil? Where did u get it?

Not a clue.. You can look up if aftermarket steering hubs are the same for those cars. Suppose that's the best way to find out.

It's called ignition leads.. They're from Magnecor. But don't just buy them for the colour if you don't need them. For me, it was an upgrade, as I fitted a different coilpack, with other connectors - and Magnecor make custom leads :)

So I did a couple power runs tonight, and they came out pretty much identical to the one below. Considering that the car is 11 years old and have soon crossed 150.000km, I'd say it's a decent result!

Mods on this run are:
- GSR induction w/BMC TwinAir filter
- 2" stainless from cat back w/Ragazzon back box

Finally fitted my new brakes yesterday - found a cheap set of calipers from a 1.9JTD 80 in Germany and had them swapped for a remanufactured set at work - then ordered som HEL brake lines and some DOT5.1 fluid.. Went for EBC Green Stuff as last time. Now I'm more than ready for my next trip to Zandvoort, in just over two months!
