This was my first ever car, which I owned. I bought it on 2013 July with damaged front.
Damaged was bonned, both side wings, front bumper and radiator. As price for MK2 and MK2b parts was almost same so I planned to make it MK2B.
So this is how it came to my hands (some parts removed)...

I planed to put sporting/hgt front bumper, but unfortunately were wasn't it in scrap yards in Lithuania.
I repaired my car as I can drive it. Fitted old radiator from punto mk1, used old bonnet and front bumper and buyed cheap side wings.

Few month later fitted punto wheel covers and HGT 15" alloys.

That's nice!

How did you change the ecu/board computer? All the connectors were compatible?
Did you have to add anything to make the dash temperature display work?

Ecu and board computer connectors are same, but I changed almost wiring loom, only engine wiring loom not changed.
For temperature display you have to add two wires to dashboard. You can only buy thermal resistor to show temperature, no need to buy whole mirror with temperature sensor.

I only want the temperature display, so this was plan A.
Now I'll dig myself into CANBus, and planning to "hack" the mk2 dashboard to display temperature.

Painted dashboard to black with Motip Sprayplast.
Fitted JTD 257mm vented brakes. It is much better than stock 1.2 8v brakes :)
Fitted back summer wheels. Wheather is very bad and almost all days now are raining so front brakes painting have to wait.

Where is the location of the ecu and board computer?
Is it underneath the front passenger feet and the one on the engine?
I own an Mk2 and have the complete set of front part of Mk2B. Unlucky I threw the side panels away, if not, I might have copied of what you did. :bang:
Thank you.

Hello, ecu is mounted on throttle body, board computer is connected with interior fusebox.

Thank you.

Thank you for your encouraging reply.
You did mentioned too about those two wires. Do you mind to share about the connection and is the thermal resistor needed? If it's a yes, description will help me a lot.
Thank's.

It has to be connected to instrumental panel pins 17 and 18. Resistor is 10k ohms, cost about 1eur.
Steering wheel is genuine mk2b sporting/hgt with radio control.

Hi.. Punto looks nice.. Didn't think you could change the fronts "so easiliy" (i know it was not easy..)
1.question - how did you make the steering wheel controls work with the radio - a DIY job or a bought kit?

Greatings
Marko

Ups... see you went back to stock radio.. Sorry..

Hi Marko, Front seats hasn't changed, its still blue ones what comes from factory. I plan to change seats to sporting/hgt as its more comfortable for me in other punto. For steering wheel controls you will need airbag squib with steering controls and add 3 wires from radio to airbag squib. Punto squib is inposible to find, but alfa 147/gt had same squib and almost all alfa's had steering wheel controls. Maybe squib will fit from stilo, but it have two connectors for airbag, but I think all pins of squib are the same. But if you want aftermarket radio you can get adapter from ebay to get working steering wheel controls.
