Hi all, yes I am a newbie to the forum and I have recently purchased a 2.2 diesel Ulysse which I think is a really good comfortable car. However I have had a problem with diesel leaking from the filter housing, and the dealer (who is not a FIAT dealer) has had the car in about 4 times. He has replaced the housing twice and now he is talking about taking the tank out. Can this possibly be connected to the problem? So far I lose about 15 litres of diesel each time it goes in for repair, the last visit was over 20 litres lost. Please can anyone help or advise me?:bang:

hi, and welcome to FF,
as far as I know it's basically the same as the citroen Synergie, and pug 806

is it a cit/pug dealer.. or a service garage..??,

personally if they've changed / repaired it twice, and it's still leaking , they don't know what they are doing and I would take the car elsewhere..,

The dealer is a secondhand car dealer of any make, and he is really trying to cure the problem but obviously missing something

Could it possibly be something to do with a blockage in the fuel line return to the tank causing an increase in pressure?

The filter housings are very hard to fit - the thread can so easily be wrecked, than it'll never seal. Safest thing is to fit a new one with the filter already fitted. E-bay...

The last time it went in it had a complete new genuine part already assembled but still leaks:confused:

as I said - the problem obviously lies elsewhere..,;)

unless they are doing this remedial work for free ,
do yourself a favour, and go to a competent garage,

why want to remove the fuel tank , when the leak is under the bonnet..??

unless they KNOW there is an issue with the plumbing in general,

Ive booked car to go in tuesday but I've just had a look myself and theres a bolt missing that bolts the housing to the engine (or whatever it should bolt to) AND Ive just managed to tighten the housing BY HAND. The so called mechanic must be snorting something I think, can't wait to ring when there open next. Thanks for your input chaps and a happy trouble free new year to you all. Well I can hope can't I?
