Panda My 1.2 Dynamic

Introduction

I don't do the whole naming a car thing, so to me it's just "Panda".

I bought this from Panda panda panda back in March, and have been delighted with it ever since.

I have done more than a few miles on it though (approx 15,000 in 10 months  ), as I do a lot of filming up and down the country for a TV program covering car rallies. It's had more than a few miles through forests and still never missed a beat (unlike me!).

It had a full service and MOT three weeks ago and just needed a new tyre (which I knew and told them to fit before doing the MOT, so why it was an advisory I've no idea!). The other front had been renewed the week before when I hit a kerb on a roundabout while avoiding some half wit who cut across me and drove off oblivious

So what've I done to it:

  • Fitted my radio (single DIN) with Apple charger coming up through upper tray which is an ideal place to hold my phone.
  • Set of alloys which I had on my previous 1.1 Active (which had the winter tyres on when it was written off).
  • Fitted a RoadHawk camera, now permanently on so would hopefully catch any car park nudges!)
  • Recently fitted set of DRLs, into trim pieces for fog lights. I may well replace them next year with a set of Ring DRLs which dim to position lights when sidelights are switched on, these just go out.
  • Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited headlight bulbs - seems a very good improvement, brighter and whiter
  • Obligatory rally stickers

And plan to do:

  • Winter tyres to be ordered this weekend
  • Fix front washer spray (tube probably blocked, rear works ok)
  • Refit sunstrip
  • Fit extra 12v & USB sockets in glovebox
  • Cable tidy to tidy up new wiring under bonnet
  • Extra steel wheel for full size spare
  • Replacement plain number plates, fitted with tape rather than screws
  • Clean rear seats and get seat covers
  • Reversing sensors
  • Outside temp thermometer
  • Mesh on lower grill, still to see how you get this off if possible without removing bumper
  • Would really like a set of spotlights...
  • Alloys ideally need refurbished due to kerbing (only once was me due to above puncture, though the impact gave me the impression the wheel had shattered)
  • phone & ipad mounts for dash
  • Tow bar for rear bike carrier instead of my current roof one
  • Larger door mirrors

Despite being clueless about mechanicals I am ambitious, will see how next year goes. Absolutely no plans to replace it anytime soon!

Few pics from a trip to the highlands in the summer. This is Applecross Bay - the tent did survive the night despite the gale!!

Very nice! I bought mine as a temporary runabout in 2009, and still have it six years later. Despite it being rather underpowered on the motorway, it's tough as old boots and still drives great.
