Bravo snoopy - my bravo 140 multiair

Introduction

Well It was time to move on from my Stilo and thankfully I'm still keeping with the fiat theme with this stunning ice white bravo :)

It's a 1.4 turbo 140hp version and I bought it with 7100 miles. It was owned by Fiat UK (Slough) so was probably a managers hack up unit June this year when the tax ran out so has been lain dormant for the best part of 5 months. It's has an array of extras fitted on it such as heated seats, bi-xenon lights upgraded 17" alloys and a sky roof. The dealership gave it a full service - with a stamped book - so alls good there (y)

Modifcations wise? Well not much as it's still under warranty so anything more than a set of mudflaps is a no no - for now :D but I'm sure my tinkering fingers will get bored soon after so perhaps a cone filter and a remap...... And some ultraracing braces....... Perhaps some cross drilled discs......

It drives superbly and although it doesn't have the torque of my last car (2.4 Stilo) it handles very well indeed. So it's a future of boost for me now so hopefully it won't let me down or that M32 gearbox :D
Oh yes, they sound incredible with exhaust and filters on ;)
That is another problem with small turbo engines. They will bog down. Gotta be in the right gear :)

Hope youre enjoying her.

Defiantly (y) everyday just gets better . It was a lot to take in at first - it's more comfortable and quiter but not as aggressive as the Stilo plus I do miss that 5 pot burble but overal its is a better car and it's unbelievably good on fuel and I'm very, very happy with it

I do have some mods in the pipe line but it'll be a while as its still under warranty (n) but overtime it will get add one I'm sure. A re-map would be good plus I'ld like a K&N cartridge filter and if the exhausts gets crusty I'll be hankering after a full system aftermarket one (y) don't think I'll be lowering it though

Picked the bravo up from research this evening. I dropped it off on Saturday for some warranty work. Not much just a peice of interior trim that was insecure, the tracking and to get the bonnet lined up properly and I'm pleased to say that they did it all without fuss (y) and even better was that they gave it a valet for me and didn't even charge me for fuel on the courtesey car - a wee little 500 which I have to say was a great little car!

So it's a big (y) from me so far for customer service :)

Gadge will you please but a cone filter on the multi-air you will love the sound it makes I can ensure you of that, the mutli-air's chatter so much with cones!

get it done! you must have one lying in that garage of yours!

I've got about two kicking round somewhere :p I bet it would as I can just hear it chattering away with the standard box on (y) I'm deffinatly going to fit one in the new year. I found myself looking at sports suspension the other day...... I can see it's not gonna be long before I reach for the tools box :p

Whislt the warranty hangs over snoopys roof for at least a year, the "mods" hav'nt exactly been flying on but did manage to fit an official fiat boot net kit.

While it may not be exciting they are however very usefull as I'm fed up of trashing the boot area of my previous cars with loose beer cans or the odd house plant. Don't ask me the price - anyone would think there for a Bentley

Well it's been nearly a year since my last post. 2015 had totally been taken up with luigi (my 126) and all his escapades which has pretty much meant that other than routine cleaning and an oil change in the summer not a lot has happened on Snoopy Di Bravo. But now it's 2016 and although the work still continues on luigi I've decided to look towards the bravo for my curious fetish for tinkering with cars. I've got some plans this year which I'll remain tight lipped about for the time being as I may change my mind - but rest assured I'm taking great inspiration from the bravo section (y)

So, first up a small but worth while mod. I decided to replace the functional but dull gear knob and replace the gear stick gaiter with a genuine leather one. Hear it is in standard form.

Replacement was an absolute doddle. Simply prise the gearshift emblem off the top and undo the 10mm bolt and "Roberts your fathers brother" off pops the gearknob. The gaiter unfastends from the stick and the chrome base just prises out gently. Swapping the gaiter is just a case of slipping the old gaiter off the tabs and reattaching the new one in the reverse way. After around 20 minutes it was done.

After a lot of deliberation I chose a polished black aluminium one from Richbrook to match the black centre console. I'm very happy with the results I must say (y)

Snoopy passed his first MOT :) ........just, as is always the case with my cars there's always something and this year is was the front tyres being on the legal limit. I have Reasearch fiat in Nuneaton To thank for this for setting my front tracking at a stonking 17mm's out  so new rubber hoops to be fitted soon :):)

Luigi wasn't quite ready for 2016's trip to brooklands so snoopy got to go again (y)

Getting there super early meant I was able to get some great shots on the famous banking :)

Fantastic bro. Glad to meet you finally too. Hope my bravo lived up to your expectations because yours certainly did. It looked immaculate mate. Did you spot the Bravo Enthusiasts card? Ha

It certainly did bud they all looked amazing (y) I managed to get plenty of ideas from all of you. Stacey's exhaust pretty much sealed the deal on what exhaust I want on mine :D

The sun was shining at the weekend so decided to replace the pollen filter on snoopy. If anyone's ever done one of these on a RHD car then you don't need me to tell you was a ball ache these can be. I have previous with these as they are the same as the stilo but still no easier. If you havnt done one before then read on as I have a technique that may help alittle.

Firstly remove the trim panel found by the clutch pedal. Two plastic clips hold it on.

Prise the little square cover off the matrix by pushing it towards the front of the car then pull the old filter out. Here was mine next to the new one - well overdue i'ld say

The reason it's an arse of a job to do is that not only is the clutch pedal in the way but so too is the steering colum. Using a long peice of wood wedged against the seat to push the clutch pedal down sorts that problem but the steering colum is there to stay making a simple slide in filter job almost impossible (a round of applause for the design team at fiat ) so using a knife I slit down the middle of each side and bend it in half. This allows you to insert one half first then "bend" the second half in after it so once it's in its all flat again. It's still a pain but a lot easier. I cut the old one and took a photo (see below) to show where to cut. This seems like the universal way to do it as I know I'm not the only one to do it! (y)
